1 North Metropolitan Labor MLC Ljiljanna Ravlich resigned on 10 March 2015. Martin Pritchard was elected in a countback on 21 April.
2 South West Liberal MLC Nigel Hallett resigned from the Liberal Party on 16 June 2016 and joined the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party.
3 North Metropolitan Labor MLC Ken Travers resigned on 29 August 2016. Laine McDonald was elected in a countback on 27 September 2016.
4 East Metropolitan Labor MLC Amber-Jade Sanderson resigned on 5 February 2017 to contest the Legislative Assembly, while Agricultural National MLC Paul Brown and North Metropolitan Liberal MLC Peter Katsambanis resigned on 6 February 2017 for the same purpose. Sanderson and Katsambanis's vacancies were filled on 4 April 2017 by Bill Leadbetter and Elise Irwin respectively. Brown's vacancy is not being filled as the National Party has given notice to the Electoral Commissioner that there is no qualified member of that party available to fill the vacancy.

Peter Argyris Katsambanis is an Australian politician. He was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council at the 2013 state election, representing the Liberal Party, taking his seat on 22 May 2013. He resigned in 2017 to contest the Legislative Assembly seat of Hillarys, a contest he won. He was previously a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Council from 1996 to 2002.

2017 Western Australian state election elections

The 2017 Western Australian state election was held on Saturday 11 March 2017 to elect members to the Parliament of Western Australia, including all 59 seats in the Legislative Assembly and all 36 seats in the Legislative Council. The eight-and-a-half-year two-term incumbent Liberal–WA National government, led by Premier Colin Barnett, was defeated in a landslide by the Labor opposition, led by Opposition Leader Mark McGowan.

This is a list of members of the New South Wales Legislative Council, as elected at the 2011 and 2015 elections. As members serve eight-year terms, half of the Council was elected in 2011 and did not face re-election in 2015, and the members elected in 2015 will not face re-election until 2023.

He was a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Council for East Metropolitan since 4 April 2017, when he was elected in a countback following the resignation of Amber-Jade Sanderson. His term concluded on 21 May 2017, when the new Legislative Council elected at the 2017 state election took its seats.

Elise Maxine Irwin is an Australian politician. She was a Liberal member of the Western Australian Legislative Council for North Metropolitan from 4 April 2017, when she was elected in a countback following the resignation of Peter Katsambanis, to 21 May 2017, when the new Legislative Council elected at the 2017 state election took its seats.
