Midnight Choir was a Norwegian alternative rock/alt-country band active from 1992 to 2004.
The members of Midnight Choir were Al DeLoner (Atle Bystrøm 'Olsen'), Paal Flaata, and Ron 'Bystrøm' Olsen. (Atle and Ron are brothers)
The band played a kind of Americana music and was named after the opening of Leonard Cohen's song "Bird on a Wire": "Like a bird on a wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir."
From Olsen's Lot and onward produced by Chris Eckman (of The Walkabouts).
On the album Unsung Heroine, Chris Eckman is part of the band. There is also an appearance by Nils Petter Molvær on trumpet. String arrangements by Mark Nichols.
The Choir is an atmospheric Christian alternative rock band currently comprising Derri Daugherty on guitar and vocals, Steve Hindalong on drums, and Dan Michaels on saxophone and lyricon. Long-time bassist Tim Chandler died in 2018, and guitarist Marc Byrd was the fifth member of the band between 2005–2014. As of 2023, the band has released 18 full-length studio albums, three EPs, five live albums, one single-disc compilation, one retrospective box set, and is still actively recording new material.
The Saints were an Australian rock band formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 1973. The album stayed at the Norwegian VG-lista for five weeks in 1995, and reached #19 as peak position. The album was recorded and mixed at Loma Ranch Studio, Fredericksburg, Texas, during June and July 1994.
