New People's Party–Civil Force

The New People's Party formed a political alliance with the Civil Force in February 2014.

Both in the pro-Beijing camp, the Civil Force, formed by community leader as well as Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong politician Lau Kong-wah, had had a deep roots in Sha Tin District for decades and had been the largest political force in the Sha Tin District Council, having 15 District Councillors elected in the 2011 District Council election, while New People's Party which was established by Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee in 2011 was rather young, got only 4 of its candidates elected in the District Council election. During the 2012 Hong Kong Chief Executive election, Regina Ip decided to run for the office but failed to get enough nominations from the Election Committee.

After the 2012 Legislative Council election, where Lau Kong-wah gave up his seat in the New Territories East where the Civil Force was based and was defeated in the territory-wide District Council (Second) constituency, the Civil Force lost its representative in the region. The New People's Party increased its representation from one to two, with Michael Tien Puk-sun elected in New Territories West.

In February 2014, the two groups officially formed an alliance, with Civil Force leader Pun Kwok-shan appointed to one of the Vice-Chairmanships of the New People's Party. [1] With 17 Civil Force District Councillors and 2 independents joined the New People's Party, the party's seat in the District Councils jumped from 12 to 31. [2]

1991 Hong Kong municipal elections

The 1991 Hong Kong Urban Council and Regional Council elections were the municipal elections held on 5 May 1991 for the elected seats of the Urban Council and Regional Council respectively. The election saw the direct rivalry between the newly established political parties, the liberal United Democrats of Hong Kong (UDHK) and the conservative Liberal Democratic Federation of Hong Kong (LDFHK) which the liberal forces won a landslide victory.

The Progressive Hong Kong Society was a political group in Hong Kong. It was established on 14 February 1985 by the then Executive and Legislative Council member Maria Tam. The party is considered conservative and pro-Beijing, in contrast to the pro-democracy forces which rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 90s.

Choy Kan-pui, BBS, JP is a former Hong Kong legislator and Sha Tin villager. He ran in the 1982 Hong Kong district boards election representing the Tin Sum village in Sha Tin where he rooted and continued his office until 2003. He was also the chairman of the Sha Tin District Council.

Pun Kwok-shan, MH, JP is a Hong Kong politician. He is vice-chairman of the New People's Party and member of Civil Force. He is also a former member of the Sha Tin District Council for Tin Sum.

Ting Tsz-yuen is a Hong Kong pro-democracy politician and a former member of the Sha Tin District Council for Kam Ying. A former Frontier and Democratic Party member, Ting is also a current convenor of the local political group Community Sha Tin and the deputy convenor of the Community Alliance. Mr Ting born in Hong Kong, and his ancestral hometown is Dongguan city( 東莞市）， Guangdong province.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tsz Wan Shan Constructive Power</span> Political party in Hong Kong

Tsz Wan Shan Constructive Power was a local political group based in Tsz Wan Shan of Wong Tai Sin District founded in January 2015 by a group of HKGolden netizens. Inspired by the Umbrella Revolution, the group contested in the 2015 District Council election but failed to win any seats. It won two seats in a historic pro-democracy landslide in 2019 District Council election.

Eddie Lam Yu-sing is the former deputy executive of Civil Force political party in Hong Kong, and is the current spokesperson and Vice-Chairperson of the New Territories Youth Federation. He previously worked in the China News Service. He was awarded the Secretary of Home Affairs Youth Recognition Scheme in October 2016. He is also a member of the New People's Party as a Pro-Beijing camp politician. In the 2019 Hong Kong local elections, he participated in the Sha Tin District Council Chui Ka election but suffered a severe loss to a Pro-democracy camp opponent.
