Nigerian Academy of Engineering was founded in 1997 by concerned professional Nigerian engineers, with the aim to promote engineering training and practice in Nigeria as an effort to improve the technological growth of Nigeria as a developing country in West-Africa. [1] [2] The Academy was described as a Think Tank for Engineering and Technology in Nigeria with focus on researches and studies across the field of engineering. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Nigeria Federal republic in West Africa

Nigeria, officially the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a federal republic in West Africa, bordering Niger in the north, Chad in the northeast, Cameroon in the east, and Benin in the west. Its coast in the south is located on the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean. The federation comprises 36 states and 1 Federal Capital Territory, where the capital, Abuja, is located. The constitution defines Nigeria as a democratic secular country.

Akinsola Olusegun Faluyi is a Nigerian Mechanical engineer and former President of COREN, an engineering regulation body in Nigeria.

Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo is a Nigerian Mechanical engineer, former Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Chair of the Nigerian Member Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC), Africa Region and former Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Nigeria.

Danladi Slim Matawal is a Nigerian professor of Civil engineering and the Director-General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), an agency under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.

Obafemi Awolowo University Nigerian public university

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is a federal government owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. The university was founded in 1961 and classes commenced in October 1962 as the University of Ife by the regional government of Western Nigeria, led by late chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, and was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University on 12 May 1987 in honour of Chief Obafemi Awolowo (1909–1987), first premier of the Western Region of Nigeria, whose brainchild the university was.

Adefemi Kila Nigerian politician

Adefemi Kila is a Nigerian politician and engineer who served in the Senate representing Ekiti Central April 2007 just after working for Julius Berger Nigerian Plc for 30 years as a Civil Engineer and as a Technical Manager (Administration) for 18 years. He is currently a Council Member of Standards Organisation of Nigeria SON. He his a devoted Christian of the Anglican church of Nigeria.

Africa Movie Academy Awards award

The Africa Movie Academy Awards, popularly known as AMAA and The AMA Awards, are presented annually to recognize excellence among professionals working in, or non-African professionals who have contributed to, the African film industry. It was founded by Peace Anyiam-Osigwe and is run through the Africa Film Academy. The awards are aimed at honouring and promoting excellence in the African movie industry as well as uniting the African continent through arts and culture. The award presentation is attended by numerous media representatives, celebrities, politicians, journalists, actresses and actors from all across the world. The AMA Awards are widely considered to be Africa's most important film event and the most prestigious film award in Africa. The 2016 ceremony was held in June 2016 and took place at Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) is a Government of Nigeria institute responsible for researching and developing road and building materials for the Nigerian building industry. The institute is under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology of Nigeria.

Babatunde Ayodeji Ogunnaike (1956–present) is an American chemical engineer of Nigerian descent and the William L. Friend Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University Of Delaware (UD). He also is the Dean of UD's College of Engineering.

Joseph Atubokiki Ajienka is a Nigerian professor of Petroleum engineering, educational administrator and 7th vice chancellor of University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Under his leadership, the University of Port Harcourt was ranked 6th in Africa and 1st in Nigeria in Research Influence by Times Higher Education (THE).

The Nigerian Academy of Science is the official science academy of Nigeria. The academy of science was established on 18 January 1977 as an association of Nigeria's foremost scientist, and incorporated in 1986. It is the apex scientific organization in Nigeria. The academy today acts as a scientific advisor to the Federal Government of Nigeria, funds research fellowships, and scientific start-up companies. The academy is governed by its council, which is chaired by the academy's president, according to a set of Statutes and Bye-laws. The members of council and the president are elected from, and by its Fellows. The basic members of the academy are also elected by existing Fellows. There are currently 233 Fellows allowed to use the postnominal title FAS, with not more than 10 new Fellows appointed each year. The current president is Professor Kalu Mosto Onuoha, a professor of Pure and Applied Geophysics. The Nigerian Academy of Science is Nigeria’s national representative on such bodies as the International Council for Science (ICSU) – the umbrella body for all science associations and unions – and the Inter-Academy Partnership (IAP) – the umbrella body for all national science academies globally. The academy is also a member of the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC)..
