The People's Action Party (PAP) was a political party in Ghana during the Second Republic (1969-1972). In elections held on 29 August 1969, the PAP won 2 out of 140 seats in the National Assembly. The party's leader was Imoru Ayarna. [1]

A political party is an organized group of people, often with common views, who come together to contest elections and hold power in the government. The party agrees on some proposed policies and programmes, with a view to promoting the collective good or furthering their supporters' interests.

Barisan Sosialis Singaporean political party

The main objectives of the Barisan included eradicating colonialism, establishing a united independent and democratic Malayan nation comprising the Federation of Malaya and Singapore and introducing an economic system to promote prosperity and stability in society. The party was merged into the Workers' Party of Singapore in 1988.

1963 Singaporean general election

General elections were held in Singapore on 21 September 1963, five days after the merger with Malaysia. The elections saw the Malaysian ruling party, United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), backed with Singapore Alliance Party (SAP) in an attempt to oust the People's Action Party (PAP), after violating previous agreement not to do so and a highlight in the relations between UMNO and the PAP. However, the result was a victory for the PAP, which won 37 of the 51 seats in the Singapore Legislative Assembly.
