Psettina is a genus of small lefteye flounders native to the Indo-Pacific.

A genus is a taxonomic rank used in the biological classification of living and fossil organisms, as well as viruses, in biology. In the hierarchy of biological classification, genus comes above species and below family. In binomial nomenclature, the genus name forms the first part of the binomial species name for each species within the genus.

Edwin Chapin Starks was an ichthyologist most associated with Stanford University. He was known as an authority on the osteology of fish. He also did studies of fish of the Puget Sound. His wife and daughter were also both involved in either science or natural history.

A helpful reminder when trying to recall the family name for this fish is that "Bothidae eyes are on the same side o' dey head." The family is also distinguished by the presence of spines on the snout and near the eyes.

Nematops is a genus of righteye flounders native to the Indo-West Pacific. Due to their small size and depth of habitation few examples of this genus are caught, and as a result little is known of their morphology and distribution.
