The Raffles Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually in the first week of November at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore. Contested on turf over a left-handed course, the domestic Group One race is run over a distance of 1800 metres (1.12 miles / 9 furlongs) and is open to horses age three and older.
The Raffles Cup was inaugurated in 1991 at the Bukit Timah Race Course and raced there through 1999 when the track was closed to be replaced by the new Kranji Racecourse. It was raced at 1600 metres from 1991 through 2000 then in 2001 it was changed to its present distance of 1800 metres.
Named for Sir Stamford Raffles, founder of Singapore, the Raffles Cup is the second leg of the Singapore Triple Crown. It comes after the Kranji Mile and is followed by the Singapore Gold Cup.

The Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, often shortened to Triple Crown, is a series of horse races for Thoroughbreds, often restricted to three-year-olds. Ian Balding is a retired British horse trainer. He is the son of the polo player and racehorse trainer Gerald Matthews Balding and the younger brother of trainer Toby Balding. Ian Balding was born in the US, but his family returned to the UK in 1945. He was educated at Marlborough College and Millfield school in Somerset. He went up to Christ's College, Cambridge, in 1959 to read Rural Estate Management, where he played Rugby for the university team, gaining his Blue in 1961 at full back. He started training in 1964. Kingsclere became his home at the age of 26 and it is here that earned his reputation as an internationally respected trainer.

Contested on turf over a left-handed course, the International Group 1 sprint race was run over a distance of 1200 meters and was open to horses aged three and older. It offered a purse of S$1,000,000. The race was discontinued in 2015.
The Japan Turf Cup Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run, held annually at Maryland's Laurel Park Racecourse. Open to horses age three and older, it is currently run on grass at a distance of one and one-half miles.
The Challenge Cup is a Grade 3 horse race for Thoroughbreds aged three and over, run in late November or early December over a distance of 2000 metres on turf at Hanshin Racecourse.
