The Roman Catholic Diocese of Keningau (Lat: Dioecesis Keningauensis) is a diocese of the Latin Church of the Roman Catholic Church in Malaysia.
Erected in 1992, from the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu, on 23 May 2008; the diocese became a suffragan of the newly elevated Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu. The first bishop is the Right Reverend Datuk Cornelius Piong, appointed on 17 Dec 1992. There are 20 secular and 2 religious priests.

The Interior Division is an administrative division of the state of Sabah, Malaysia. It occupies the southwest portion of Sabah, bordered by the neighbouring state of Sarawak on its west. With an area of 18,298 square kilometres, it covers 24.9% of Sabah's territory and is home to approximately 14.7% of Sabah's total population. The largest town in the Interior Division is Keningau. Other main towns in this division include Beaufort, Kuala Penyu, Sipitang, Tambunan and Tenom.
Keningau is the capital of the Keningau District in the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia. It is the fifth-largest town in Sabah, as well one of the oldest. Keningau is between Tambunan and Tenom. The town had an estimated population of 173,130. Dusuns, Muruts and Lundayehs are the major ethnics in Keningau.

Datuk Simon Michael Fung Kui Heong was a Malaysian prelate of the Catholic Church. He was named as the third Vicar Apostolic of the Vicariate of Kota Kinabalu and Titular Bishop of Catabum Castra in 1975, and then was elevated as the first Bishop of the Diocese of Kota Kinabalu in 1977, with both positions given by Pope Paul VI. He was the first Sabahan to ever become a Bishop in Malaysia. He died on 16 November 1985, two days after his 10th episcopal ordination anniversary.
Cornelius Piong is a Malaysian prelate of the Catholic Church. He became Bishop of Keningau in 1993.
