The Irtysh is a river in Russia, China, and Kazakhstan. It is the chief tributary of the Ob and is also the longest tributary river in the world.

European route E30 is an A-Class European route from the port of Cork in the Republic of Ireland in the west to the Russian city of Omsk, near the border with Kazakhstan in the east. For much of the Russian stretch, it follows the Trans-Siberian Highway and, east of the Ural Mountains, with AH6 of the Asian Highway Network, which continues to Busan, South Korea. The total length is 6,530 km (4,060 mi)—3,300 km (2,100 mi) from Cork to Moscow, and 3,230 km (2,010 mi) from Moscow to Omsk. The naming is by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
Oral, Ural'sk in Russian, formerly known as Yaitsk, is a city in northwestern Kazakhstan, at the confluence of the Ural and Chagan rivers close to the Russian border. As it is located on the western bank of the Ural river, it is considered geographically in Europe. It is the capital of the West Kazakhstan Region. The ethnic composition is dominated by Kazakhs (69%) and Russians. Population: 271,900 ; 194,905.
Orsk is the second largest city in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, located on the steppe about 100 kilometers (62 mi) southeast of the southern tip of the Ural Mountains. The city straddles the Ural River. Since this river is considered a boundary between Europe and Asia, Orsk can be said to lie in two continents. Population: 239,800 (2010 Census); 250,963 (2002 Census); 270,711 (1989 Census).. It lies adjacent to the Kazakhstan–Russia border.
Ural Economic Region is one of twelve economic regions of Russia. This prominent industrial region consists of the following subdivisions : Bashkortostan (Ufa), Chelyabinsk Oblast (Chelyabinsk), Kurgan Oblast (Kurgan), Orenburg Oblast (Orenburg), Perm Krai (Perm), Sverdlovsk Oblast (Yekaterinburg) and Udmurt Republic (Izhevsk). It is mostly located in the Central, and partly in the Southern and Northern parts of the Urals, but also includes parts of the East European and West Siberian Plains. Its extent is different from that of the Ural Federal District; Bashkortostan, Orenburg Oblast. Perm Krai and Udmurtia are in the Volga Federal District while the other three are in the Ural Federal District.

Aksu, literally meaning the white river, formerly known as Yermak, is a city in Kazakhstan, in Pavlodar Region, located 50 km to the south of Pavlodar on the left bank of the Irtysh River. The municipality borders Aktogay District in the north, Bayanaul District, May District, Lebyazhye District in the south, Pavlodar District in the west, and city of Ekibastuz in the east. Poperczyn is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Żółkiewka, within Krasnystaw County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) east of Żółkiewka, 21 km (13 mi) south-west of Krasnystaw, and 44 km (27 mi) south-east of the regional capital Lublin.

Siksika 146 is an First Nations reserve in southern Alberta, Canada. It has a land area of 696.54 km², making it the second-largest Indigenous reserve in Canada. It is located 87 kilometres (54 mi) southeast of Calgary and is inhabited by members of the Siksika Nation. It is bordered by Vulcan County, Wheatland County, and the County of Newell, and is located at an elevation of 857 metres (2,812 ft). The Canada 2011 Census reported a population of 2,972 inhabitants. The reserve is home to the Blackfoot Crossing historical park.
Akbulaksky District, also known as Ak-Bulaksky District, is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-five in Orenburg Oblast, Russia. The area of the district is 5,000 square kilometers (1,900 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality of Akbulak. Population: 25,606 ; 30,723 (2002 Census); 29,683 (1989 Census). The population of Akbulak accounts for 54.4% of the total district's population.
The Mongolia–Russia border is the international border between the Russian Federation and Mongolia. It is virtually all land. The total length of the border is 3485 km. The boundary is the third longest border between Russia and another country, behind the Kazakhstan-Russia border and the China-Russia border.
The Kazakhstan–Russia border is the 7,644 kilometres (4,750 mi) international border between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. It is the longest continuous international border in the world and the second longest by total length, after the Canada–United States border. It is in the same location as the former administrative-territorial border between the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic and the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.
The China–Kazakhstan border or the Sino-Kazakhstan border, is the international border between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The border line between the two countries has been largely inherited from the border existing between the Soviet Union and the PRC and, earlier, between the Russian Empire and the Qing Empire; however, it has been fully demarcated only in the late 20th and early 21st century. According to the international boundary commissions that have carried out the border demarcation, the border is 1,782.75 km (1,107.75 mi) long.

Ukatnyy or Ukatny is an island in the northern Caspian Sea. It is located off the eastern end of the mouths of the Volga.
The Russian conquest of Central Asia took place in the second half of the nineteenth century. The land that became Russian Turkestan and later Soviet Central Asia is now divided between Kazakhstan in the north, Uzbekistan across the center, Kyrgyzstan in the east, Tajikistan in the southeast and Turkmenistan in the southwest. The area was called Turkestan because most of its inhabitants spoke Turkic languages with the exception of Tajikistan, which speaks an Iranian language.
