The Sears Women's Classic was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour from 1971 to 1974. [1] It was played at the Port St. Lucie Country Club, Sinners Course in Port St. Lucie, Florida. In 1971, the format was 54 holes of stroke play. [2] From 1972 to 1974, the format changed to two rounds of match play to reduce the field from 64 to 16 players, followed by one round of stroke play. Barbara Jane Blalock is an American business executive and retired professional golfer. After winning several New England golf tournaments in her youth, Blalock joined the LPGA Tour as a professional in 1969, being named LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 1969 and Most Improved Golfer in 1970 and 1971. She won the historically notable Dinah Shore Colgate Winner's Circle in 1972, earning "the richest prize in women's golf history." After successfully fighting a suspension from the LPGA for allegedly signing an incorrect scorecard a month after Dinah Shore, by 1977 she was the sixth-highest paid female golfer of all time. The Evening Independent described her as "one of the foremost women golfers of her time" the following year. Nursing a herniated disc, Blalock failed to win a tournament from 1981 until 1984, though after two wins in 1985 she was named Comeback Player of the Year by Golf Digest.

Hollis Stacy is an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1974, winning four major championships and 18 LPGA Tour events. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in the veterans category in 2012.

Mary Ruth Jessen was an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1956 and won 11 LPGA Tour victories in all.

The Mary Kay Classic was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour from 1956 to 1982. It was played at four different courses in the Dallas, Texas area.

The American Defender Classic was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour from 1966 to 1981. It was played in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Raleigh Country Club from 1966 to 1974 and at the North Ridge Country Club from 1975 to 1981. The Triangle Round Robin was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour from 1953 to 1962. It was played at several different courses on the East Coast of the United States.

The Royal Poinciana Invitational was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in 1961 and 1962. It was played at Palm Beach Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida, a Dick Wilson and Joe Lee-designed Par-3 course. The tournament was one of the first in professional golf featuring a Battle of the Sexes concept, with a Par 3 course that neutralised power and emphasised precision golf.

The Tampa Women's Open was a golf tournament on the LPGA Tour from 1947 to 1960. It was played at the Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club in Tampa, Florida. The 1950 event was the first official event on the LPGA Tour. The events played before the LPGA was founded in 1950 are recognized as official wins.

E. Page Halpin, née E. Page Dunlap, is an American former professional golfer who was a member of the LPGA Tour for six years during the 1990s. Dunlap is best known for winning the individual NCAA Division I Championship in 1986.
