The Seton Hall Pirates women's volleyball program is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate volleyball program of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. The team competes in the Big East Conference and plays their home games in Walsh Gymnasium on the Seton Hall campus.

Regular season

The Seton Hall women's volleyball team finished 2nd in regular season conference play behind Creighton University. [2]

Post-season

Big East Championship

At the Big East Championship tournament, Seton Hall beat Marquette University (3-2) [3] in the first round and went on to play Creighton for the title, where the team fell short of winning the Big East Championship (3-1). [4]

NCAA Tournament

The team went on to earn their first ever NCAA Tournament berth in program history. [5] Seton Hall faced off against 12th ranked Brigham Young University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, falling to the Cougars (3-0) in Tucson, Arizona. [6]

The Miami Hurricanes are the intercollegiate varsity sports teams that represent the University of Miami, located in the Coral Gables suburb of Miami, Florida. The Seton Hall Pirates are the athletic teams representing Seton Hall University. They compete as a member of the NCAA Division I level, primarily competing in the Big East Conference for all sports since the 1979-80 season. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer and swimming & diving; women's sports include basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis and volleyball. Seton Hall canceled football in 1982.

The Big East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that competes in NCAA Division I in all sports except football, which is not sponsored. The conference has been officially recognized as a Division I multi-sport conference, effective on August 1, 2013. The conference was originally founded by Dave Gavitt on May 31, 1979.

Rob Sheppard is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach at Seton Hall since the start of the 2004 season. Sheppard was also the Pirates' interim head coach in 2001. He succeeded his father, Mike, who had been Seton Hall's head coach since 1973. Under Sheppard, the Pirates have appeared in two NCAA Tournaments.

Mike "Shep" Sheppard Sr. was an American college baseball coach, mainly as the head coach at Seton Hall from 1973 to 2000 and 2002 to 2003. In 30 seasons as head coach, he led Seton Hall to 10 NCAA Tournaments and two College World Series. He had an overall record of 998-540-11.

They finished the season 16–15, 6–12 in Big East play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Big East Tournament to Marquette.

They finished the season 28–6, 15–3 in Big East to share the Big East regular season title with DePaul. They advanced to the championship game of the Big East Women's Tournament where they lost to DePaul. They received an at-large bid of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament where they lost to Rutgers in the first round. With 28 wins in the regular season, the most wins in school history.

They were coached, for the sixth year, by Kevin Willard. They were members of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 25–9, 12–6 in Big East play to finish in third place. They defeated Creighton, Xavier, and the eventual national champion Villanova to become champions of the Big East Tournament. They finished the season 21–12, 10–8 in Big East play to finish in a four-way tie for third place. As the No. 5 seed in the Big East Tournament, they defeated Marquette before losing to Villanova in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed in the South region where they lost to Arkansas in the First Round.

Khadeen Carrington basketball player (1995-)

Khadeen Carrington is a Trinidadian-American basketball player for Riesen Ludwigsburg of the Basketball Bundesliga. He played college basketball for Seton Hall. The son of former professional soccer player and coach Reynold Carrington, he starred at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, New York. As a senior, he led the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA)'s Class AA division in scoring with 24.2 points per game and was named the Brooklyn Boys' Player of the Year by the New York Daily News. Carrington was a highly sought-after recruit and received several college offers, but chose Seton Hall. As a junior at Seton Hall, he was named to the Second-team All-Big East and averaged 17.1 points per game. Carrington's scoring declined to 15.6 points per game as a senior but he led the Pirates to a NCAA Tournament win over NC State.
