A sea shanty, chantey, or chanty is a type of work song that was once commonly sung to accompany labor on board large merchant sailing vessels. The term shanty most accurately refers to a specific style of work song belonging to this historical repertoire. However, in recent, popular usage, the scope of its definition is sometimes expanded to admit a wider range of repertoire and characteristics, or to refer to a "maritime work song" in general.
The Chenango River is a 90-mile-long (140 km) tributary of the Susquehanna River in central New York in the United States. It drains a dissected plateau area in upstate New York at the northern end of the Susquehanna watershed.
A shanty town or squatter area is a settlement of improvised housing which is known as shanties or shacks, made of plywood, corrugated metal, sheets of plastic, and cardboard boxes. Such settlements are usually found on the periphery of cities, in public parks, or near railroad tracks, rivers, lagoons or city trash dump sites. Sometimes called a squatter, or spontaneous settlement, a typical shanty town often lacks adequate infrastructure, including proper sanitation, safe water supply, electricity, hygienic streets, or other basic necessities to support human settlements.

Hewitt University Quadrangle, commonly known as Beinecke Plaza, is a plaza at the center of the Yale University campus in New Haven, Connecticut. It is the home of the university's administration, main auditorium, and dining facilities. The quadrangle was created with the construction of the university's Bicentennial Buildings and Woodbridge Hall in 1901. Until 1917, it was known as University Court. The completion of the Beinecke Library created subterranean library facilities beneath the courtyard, establishing the present appearance of the paved plaza and sunken courtyard.
The Lost River is a 6.5-mile-long (10.5 km) stream located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Pemigewasset River, part of the Merrimack River watershed.
Shanty Hollow Lake is a 135-acre (0.55 km2) reservoir mostly in Warren County, Kentucky, but also extending into Edmonson County. It was constructed in 1951. The lake is located approximately 17 miles (27 km) north of Bowling Green and is used for fishing. Fish which may be taken from the lake include largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie, white crappie, warmouth, channel catfish, and common carp. Shanty Hollow Lake is a man-made lake, created by the damming of Clay Lick Creek.
The Park River, sometimes called the Hog River, flows through and under the city of Hartford, Connecticut. Between 1940 and the 1980s, the 2.3-mile (3.7 km) river was buried by the Army Corps of Engineers to prevent the spring floods regularly caused by increased surface runoff from urban development.
Saddleback Mountain is a mountain located in Essex County, New York. The mountain is part of the Great Range of the Adirondack Mountains. The 0.2 mi (0.32 km) long summit ridge has peaks at each end with a pronounced dip between, giving it the profile of a saddle. Saddleback Mtn. is flanked to the southwest by Basin Mountain, and to the east by Gothics.
Sawteeth is a mountain located in Essex County, New York. The mountain is part of the Great Range of the Adirondack Mountains. The mountain's name comes from the serrated appearance of its summit ridge. Sawteeth is on a spur ridge of the Great Range, which branches off to the southeast from Gothics.
Coles Brook is a small stream that begins east of Pine Street in Rehoboth MA, and flows in a southwest direction to Central Pond and the James V. Turner Reservoir and the on the border of Seekonk, Massachusetts and East Providence, Rhode Island. It is a tributary of the Ten Mile River.
The Titicus River is an 8.5-mile-long (13.7 km) river in southwestern Connecticut and southeastern New York that drains into the Titicus Reservoir, part of New York City's water supply system. The drainage area is 23.8 square miles (62 km2). It is one of the few rivers in Connecticut that is part of the system. The source of the river is in Ridgefield, Connecticut. About 1 mile down stream, the stream marks the southern boundary of the Kiahs Brook Reserve. Another 0.5 miles downriver, it joins with Kiahs Brook, and then runs fairly close to Route 116. Once past the New York border, the Titicus River still runs close to New York 116 until emptying into the Titicus Reservoir. After the Titicus Reservoir, it runs another 0.5 miles, under I-684, and drains into the Muscoot Reservoir.

The Westons Mill Pond is a dammed section of the Lawrence Brook located in the Westons Mills section of East Brunswick, New Jersey, United States. It is one of a series of dams on the Lawrence Brook. The Westons Mill Pond Dam is the dam that controls reservoir output. The Westons Mill Pond is available for boating, although gasoline motors are prohibited due to the highly sensitive wildlife ecosystems found there.

Trout Brook, also called Ball Brook, is a cold water tributary of the Quinapoxet River located in Holden, Massachusetts. Trout Brook is stocked with trout each spring by the Massachusetts Fisheries and Wildlife Division. As the Quinapoxet River is part of the water supply for Worcester, Massachusetts, both the Quinapoxet and all of its major tributaries including Trout Brook are monitored by the USGS for water quality.
