The City of St. Louis Sheriff's Office (STLSO) is the principal law enforcement agency for the Circuit Court in City of St. Louis in the U.S. state of Missouri. In addition to providing security services for the courtrooms, they are responsible for issuing gun carry permits and serving court documents. [2] Patrol duties are handled by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the safety and security of thirty-one divisional courtrooms of the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit Court and the transportation of prisoners between the Courts and detention facilities.

The St. Louis County Police Department (SLCPD) is the primary and largest law enforcement agency serving St. Louis County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The current Chief of Police is Colonel Kenneth Gregory. According to the Charter of St. Louis County, the county police chief has all of the criminal law enforcement duties of the sheriff of St. Louis County, except for the operation of the St. Louis County Jail, which is handled by the St. Louis County Department of Justice Services (civilian), court bailiff and service of civil process. Court bailiff/civil process duties are provided by a court-appointed sheriff and his employees, none of whom have law enforcement powers.

Prince William County Sheriffs Office

The Prince William County, Virginia Sheriff's Office was established in 1731 to provide law enforcement and jailers for the County. In 1970, the Board of County Supervisors established the Prince William County Police Department which assumed the primary responsibility for law enforcement. In 1982, the Prince William County Adult Detention Center opened and assumed the duties of jailers. The Sheriff is a constitutional office elected by the Prince William County, City of Manassas and City of Manassas Park to provide certain public safety services.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is the sheriff's office for Hennepin County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. HCSO serves one million residents and is located downtown in the city of Minneapolis, the county seat. Government of Richmond, Virginia
