The Dreaming E.P.
The band recorded The Dreaming E.P. which featured the songs "I Want Out", "Fake", "The Haunting" and "For The Children".
The self-financed recording sold several thousand copies and attracted initial record company interest. The recording also prompted Runrig's manager, Marlene Ross, to book the unsigned Aberdeen band for the support slot on the "Castle and Canvas Tour 1994".
Following on from this appearance The Dreaming where booked to play at the 1st and 2nd Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow.
Let The Feast Of Fools Begin
The first full album recorded by the band contained one side of studio tracks, recorded at The Mill Studio, Crathes and one side live, recorded at The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen. The track list was: Side 1 (studio) "Thorn In My Pride", "Girl With Brown Eyes", "Jane", "Rain On The Level", Side 2 (live) "I Want Out", "Broken", "The Haunting", "Happy" and was produced by Pallas guitarist, Niall Mathewson.
The song "Rain On The Level" is written about "The Level" in Brighton, which is an open green space in the middle of the town where Charlie slept when busking in England.
Live At The Arches
Live At The Arches, was recorded in Christmas 1994 in The Arches. A limited release of 1000 which included the tracks - "Thorn In My Pride", "I Want Out", "Satellite", "Rain On The Level", "Happy", "Fake", "The Haunting", "The Road" and "World Song".
The Christmas concert also featured Martyn Bennett and The Humpff Family (who do not appear on the recording).
War Of Currents
In mid of 1995 War Of Currents was released as a second limited pressing live album. This album contained the complete live show recorded in 1993 for Let The Feast Of Fools Begin and was remixed at The Mill Studio in Crathes by Niall Mathewson.
Siouxsie and the Banshees were a British rock band, formed in London in 1976 by vocalist Siouxsie Sioux and bass guitarist Steven Severin. They have been widely influential, both over their contemporaries and with later acts. Q magazine included John McKay's guitar playing on "Hong Kong Garden" in their list of "100 Greatest Guitar Tracks Ever", while Mojo rated guitarist John McGeoch in their list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" for his work on "Spellbound". The Times called the group “one of the most audacious and uncompromising musical adventurers of the post-punk era".
Blind Melon is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California, by five musicians: three from Mississippi, one from Pennsylvania and one from Indiana. The band currently consists of guitarists Rogers Stevens and Christopher Thorn, drummer Glen Graham, vocalist Travis Warren and bassist Nathan Towne. They are best known for their 1993 hit "No Rain", and enjoyed critical and commercial success in the early 1990s with their neo-psychedelic take on alternative rock.
The Dream Syndicate is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California, originally active from 1981 to 1989, and reunited since 2012. The band is associated with neo-psychedelia and the Paisley Underground music movement; of the bands in that movement, according to the Los Angeles Times, the Dream Syndicate "rocked with the highest degree of unbridled passion and conviction." Though never commercially successful, the band met with considerable acclaim, especially for its songwriting and guitar playing. Bandleader Steve Wynn reformed the band in 2012, and a fifth studio album was released in February 2017.
Runrig were a Scottish Celtic rock band formed on the Isle of Skye in 1973. From its inception, the band's line-up included songwriters Rory Macdonald and Calum Macdonald. The line-up during most of the 1980s and 1990s also included Donnie Munro, Malcolm Jones, Iain Bayne, and Pete Wishart. Munro left the band in 1997 to pursue a career in politics and was replaced by Bruce Guthro. Wishart left in 2001 and was replaced by Brian Hurren. The band released fourteen studio albums, with a number of their songs sung in Scottish Gaelic.
Alan Stivell is a French, Breton and Celtic musician and singer, songwriter, recording artist, and master of the Celtic harp. From the early 1970s, he revived global interest in the Celtic harp and Celtic music as part of world music. As a bagpiper and bombard player, he modernized traditional Breton music and singing in the Breton language. A precursor of Celtic rock, he is inspired by the union of the Celtic cultures and is a keeper of the Breton culture.
Wolfstone are a Scottish musical group founded in 1989, who play Celtic rock. Their repertoire consists of both original songs and traditional folk pieces. They have released seven studio albums, the latest, Terra Firma, in 2007. The band record on their own label, Once Bitten Records. The group are named after the "Wolfstone", a Pictish stone originally sited at Ardross, Easter Ross, close to where the band initially recorded.
Tinderbox is the seventh studio album by English rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was released on 21 April 1986 by Wonderland and Polydor Records in the United Kingdom and by Geffen Records in the United States. It was the band's first full-length effort recorded with then-new guitarist John Valentine Carruthers; Carruthers had previously only added a few parts on the 1984 EP The Thorn. The first recording sessions for the album took place at Hansa by the Wall in Berlin in May 1985.
Flatfoot 56 is an American Celtic punk band from Chicago, Illinois, that formed in 2000. The group's use of Scottish Highland bagpipes has led to their classification as a Celtic punk band.
The Peatbog Faeries are a largely instrumental Celtic fusion band. Formed in 1991, they are based in Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
Lucius Hunt is an alternative Australian progressive rock band formed in late 2005. The band has four members: Sean Hayter, Ryan Brown, Mark Eggleton (drums) and Dylan Bell. The band hails from south of Brisbane, Queensland, and is recording their second album for the St. Cecilia Record label. The group released their first album titled Fear and Desire: The Conflict Within which contained 11 tracks in the later part of 2006.
IT'SNAZ is a double live album by the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, released in late 1981.
Lemon Parade is the debut album of American rock band Tonic, released on July 16, 1996, by A&M Records. The album has sold 1,300,000 copies to date and reached platinum status in the United States. Lemon Parade featured three singles. "If You Could Only See" was a hit single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks charts, reaching number one, and it also reached number 11 on the Billboard Airplay Hot 100, spending 63 weeks on the chart.
The MacDonald Brothers, now performing as The Macs, are a Scottish pop folk duo from Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland, consisting of brothers Brian and Craig MacDonald. They first rose to prominence in the third UK series of television talent show The X Factor in 2006, and have since gone on to release four studio albums. Their debut studio album, self-titled The MacDonald Brothers was released in April 2007 to positive reviews. The album went on to top the charts in their native Scotland and also performed well on the UK Albums Chart, peaking at number 18.
John Valentine Carruthers is an English musician, guitarist, and composer. He is mainly known for being a member of Siouxsie and the Banshees from mid-1984 until early 1987.
Live in the Studio 1979 is a live album by English gothic rock band Bauhaus. It was released in 1997 by record label Nemo, included with the Andrew Brooksbank book Bauhaus: Beneath the Mask.
Larger Than Live is the fifth studio album by heavy metal band Keel. It was released in 1989 on Gold Mountain Records. The album consists of six new studio tracks and six of the band's previous songs recorded live at The Roxy in West Hollywood, CA. It was also the only album to feature future Dio keyboardist Scott Warren and guitarist Tony Palamucci.
Peacetour is a live concert video by the British pop/rock duo Eurythmics released on 20 June 2000 on VHS and DVD. It is a recording of the band's concert at London Docklands Arena on 6 December 1999, which was the final show of their 24-date world "Peace Tour". All profits from the tour were donated to Amnesty International and Greenpeace.
Dream Attic is a live album album by Richard Thompson released in 2010, on Proper Records. While not a studio album, it is Thompson's fourteenth overall full-length album of new original solo material.
The Story is the fourteenth and final studio album by the Scottish rock band Runrig, released on 29 January 2016 on Ridge Records. This album is of particular significance as it is said to be Runrig's last studio album. The lead single, also titled "The Story", was released in November 2015. To promote the release of the album, a sizeable UK and Europe-wide tour was announced including a trademark Edinburgh Castle summer concert along with headlining the 21st HebCelt Festival on the Isle of Lewis.
7 is the seventh studio album by American dream pop band Beach House, released on May 11, 2018, through Sub Pop. It follows the B-Sides and Rarities compilation album released in 2017, which served as a proverbial "cleaning out the closet" to pave the way for a new creative process.
