Geneva is the second-most populous city in Switzerland and the most populous city of Romandy, the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Situated where the Rhône exits Lake Geneva, it is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva.
Télévision suisse romande was a TV network with two channels: TSR 1 and TSR 2. They were the main French language channels in Switzerland, part of SRG SSR(SRG SSR Idée Suisse before 2010). They provided content for TV5MONDE. Radio suisse romande and Télévision suisse romande merged in 2010 to create Radio Télévision Suisse.
The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR) is a Swiss symphony orchestra, based in Geneva at the Victoria Hall. In addition to symphony concerts, the OSR performs as the opera orchestra in productions at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
Servette FC is a Swiss football club based in Geneva. They play in the Swiss Challenge League. The club was relegated to the third division in 2004–05 due to a bankruptcy, but achieved promotion to the Swiss Challenge League after the 2005–06 season, where the club remained until 2011. Servette earned promotion to the Swiss Super League after defeating Bellinzona in a relegation/promotion playoff on 31 May 2011. The club finished fourth in its first season back in the top flight, thereby gaining entrance to the Europa League second round qualification round for the 2012–13 season. However, they were relegated at the end of the 2013 season.

Jack Vicajee Bertoli, is an Indian planner and architect, naturalised as a Swiss citizen, and living in Geneva, Switzerland, and Spain. He was born to an Italian father, Fausto Piscionieri, an interior designer and architect practising in India in the early 1930s, and a Parsee (Zoroastrian) mother, Kathleen "Kitty" Vicajee. His mother's family, the Vicajees, are one of the oldest Zoroastrian Parsee families, who were closely attached as bankers to Nizam of Hyderabad, one of the wealthiest Muslim rulers of India. A silver coin, the "Pestonshahi Sikka", was minted in India in 1840 for the first and only time, in honour of the Pestonjee Meherjee brothers, for the Vicajee family.

The Protestant Church of Geneva is an organization of congregations in the Canton of Geneva. It was founded in 1536 during the Protestant Reformation. It was the state church of Geneva from its inception until 1907. It is a member of the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches, and through that body a member of the World Council of Churches and the World Communion of Reformed Churches. As of 2003, the church had approximately 94,472 members, of which 15,095 were baptized. The ministers of the church are organized in the Company of Pastors and the Genevan Consistory functions as a sort of parliament of the church.
