Wheelchair tennis is one of the forms of tennis adapted for wheelchair users. The size of the court, net height, rackets, are the same, but there are two major differences from pedestrian tennis: athletes use specially designed wheelchairs, and the ball may bounce up to two times, where the second bounce may also occur outside the court.
Esther Mary Vergeer is a retired Dutch wheelchair tennis player. Combining singles and doubles, she has won 48 Grand Slam tournaments, 23 year-end championships and 7 Paralympics titles. Vergeer was the world number one wheelchair tennis player from 1999 until her retirement in February 2013. In singles matches, she was undefeated since January 2003 and ended her career on a winning streak of 470 matches. She has often been mentioned as the most dominant player in professional sports.
Shingo Kunieda, is a Japanese wheelchair tennis player. He is the current world No. 1, and was the ITF World Champion from 2007 to 2010. He was also the year-end No. 1 in doubles in 2007. In 2007, 2009, 2010, 2014, and 2015, Kunieda achieved the Grand Slam in singles. In 2007 and 2008, Kunieda also won three of the four Masters series events. Kunieda is the only player to retain the men's singles title at the Paralympics – he achieved victory in 2008, 2012 and 2021. In addition, Kunieda won the gold medal in the men's doubles of the 2004 Paralympics, and has been part of two World Team Cup wins. With 101 career titles over singles and doubles combined, including 46 majors. Kunieda possesses 26 Grand Slam singles titles - an all time record in singles of any discipline. Kunieda is considered by many to be the greatest male wheelchair player of all time.
Lucy Shuker is a British wheelchair tennis player who is currently the highest ranked woman in the sport in Britain. A previous singles & doubles National Champion, Lucy has represented Great Britain at three successive Paralympic Games, twice winning a bronze medal in the women's doubles and is former World Doubles Champion and World Team Cup Silver Medallist amongst a number of other National and International successes.

Wheelchair tennis was first contested at the Summer Paralympics as a demonstration sport in 1988, with two events being held. It became an official medal-awarding sport in 1992 and has been competed at every Summer Paralympics since then. Four events were held from 1992 to 2000, with quad events in both singles and doubles added in 2004.
Stéphane Houdet is a French wheelchair tennis player. Houdet is a former singles world number one, and the current doubles world number one. In 2014, he became the first man in history to complete the calendar-year Grand Slam in men's wheelchair doubles.
David Robert Hall, OAM is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. He has been referred to as Australia's greatest ever wheelchair tennis player.
Daniela "Danni" Di Toro is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. Di Toro was the 2010 French Open doubles champion and has also been the Masters double champion. In singles, Di Toro is the former world number one and two time masters finalist. In 2015, she moved to para-table tennis and represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, where she was team captain with Kurt Fearnley. At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, her sixth Paralympics, she was the team captain and Opening Ceremony flag bearer with Ryley Batt.
Jiske Griffioen is a Dutch former wheelchair tennis player. Griffioen is a thirteen-time Grand Slam champion in doubles and a three-time Paralympic medalist. She is also a seven-time Masters doubles champion and a former world number one. Alongside Aniek van Koot, Griffioen completed the Grand Slam in doubles in the 2013 season. In singles competition Griffioen is the 2012 Masters champion and the 2015 Australian Open, French Open and Masters champion and a former world number one.
Ben Weekes is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. He represented Australia at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, his fifth Games.
Adam Kellerman is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. When he was thirteen years old, he was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma. He represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the men's singles and doubles wheelchair tennis events. As of 21 July 2016 he is ranked Number 1 in Australia and Number 11 in the World for Men's Single Wheelchair Tennis. He competed for Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

She has won seven Grand Slams doubles titles partnering compatriot Esther Vergeer. At the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing she won the gold medal in the women's doubles competition. At the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney she won a silver medal in the women's singles competition. Walraven has a highest ranking of No.2 in singles and No.1 in doubles.

Nicholas Taylor is an American wheelchair tennis player. Nick started playing tennis at the age of 14. He has played 5 times in the Australian Open and 7 times in the US Open (tennis). He has a total of 11 grand slam quad doubles titles, all of them won with partner David Wagner. Taylor and Wagner are the most successful partnership to ever play at the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters. They have won the title 11 times as of November 2018.
Heath Arthur Davidson, is an Australian quad wheelchair tennis player. He represented Australia in at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, where he teamed up with Dylan Alcott to win the Men's Quad Doubles gold medal. At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, he teamed with Alcott to win the Men's Quad Doubles silver medal.
Eric Stuurman is a Dutch wheelchair tennis player. He won the bronze medal together with Ricky Molier in the men's doubles event in wheelchair tennis at the 1996 Summer Paralympics.
Ricky Molier is a Dutch wheelchair tennis player. At the 1996 Summer Paralympics he won the gold medal in the men's singles event and together with Eric Stuurman the bronze medal in the men's doubles event. Together with Robin Ammerlaan he also won the gold medal in the men's doubles event at the 2000 Summer Paralympics.
