When the Flood Comes is the second album by Australian blues/roots band, The Audreys. The album was released 18 April 2008 on Kybosh Records and distributed by Universal Music. [1]

Australia Country in Oceania

Blues is a music genre and musical form which was originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1870s by African Americans from roots in African musical traditions, African-American work songs, spirituals, and the folk music of white Americans of European heritage. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues and rock and roll, is characterized by the call-and-response pattern, the blues scale and specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues is the most common. Blue notes, usually thirds, fifths or sevenths flattened in pitch, are also an essential part of the sound. Blues shuffles or walking bass reinforce the trance-like rhythm and form a repetitive effect known as the groove.

The Audreys

The Audreys are a triple ARIA Award-winning Australian blues/roots band who formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 2004. Their fourth studio album, 'Til My Tears Roll Away, was released in March 2014.

The album debuted in the Top 20 on the ARIA Album Charts [2] (the first time that the band has a release that has charted) and went on to win the 2008 ARIA award for 'Best Blues & Roots Album' [3]

ARIA Music Awards award

The Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards is an annual series of awards nights celebrating the Australian music industry, put on by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The event has been held annually since 1987 and encompasses the general genre-specific and popular awards as well as Fine Arts Awards and Artisan Awards, Lifetime Achievement Awards and ARIA Hall of Fame – held separately from 2005 to 2010 but returned to the general ceremony in 2011. For 2010, ARIA introduced public voted awards for the first time.

In an interview Goddall explained that the majority of the album had been written in New York City.

"When we found we couldn't write when we got back off the road, we were like 'What are we going to do?' Then we went back down to Nashville saw about a million bands in about five days and went back to New York and wrote some more. After that we saw what we had would be the big pick up for the album."

Little Birdy are an Australian indie rock band formed in Perth, Western Australia in 2002 by singer and guitarist Katy Steele, drummer Matt Chequer, guitarist and keyboardist Simon Leach, and bass guitarist Scott O'Donoghue. <i>Vulture Street</i> (album) 2003 studio album by Powderfinger

Vulture Street is the fifth studio album by Australian alternative rock band by Powderfinger, released on 29 July 2003 by Universal Music. It won the 2003 ARIA Music Award for Best Rock Album. Produced by Nick DiDia, Vulture Street was certified platinum, and spent 47 weeks on the ARIA Charts and peaked at #1. Singles from the album included "(Baby I've Got You) On My Mind", "Since You've Been Gone", "Love Your Way" and "Sunsets".

Sonia Dada is an American rock/soul/rhythm and blues band, which tours with between six and eight members. The Chicago-based band formed in 1990, when founding member Daniel Pritzker enlisted Michael Scott, Paris Delane, and Sam Hogan after hearing them sing in a subway station. Ilanda were an Australian-based vocal harmony and dance group which formed in 1991 as Past to Present. Initially a four-piece, with Leighton Hema, Frank Laga'aia, Lennie Keller and his brother, Norman Keller. They are all New Zealand-born, though their heritage is Samoan. Past to Present teamed with Peter Andre to feature on his single, "Get Down on It", which peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart and No. 1 on the New Zealand Singles Chart. Mark Denis Lizotte is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician, who has released material under the name Diesel, Johnny Diesel, as leader of band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, and as a solo performer, as well as under his birth name. Two of his albums reached No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums Charts, Hepfidelity in 1992 and The Lobbyist in 1993.

The Beautiful Girls Australian roots band

The Beautiful Girls are an Australian roots music group founded in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Clay MacDonald and Mitchell Connelly. They have released three extended plays, Morning Sun (2002), Goodtimes (2002) and The Weight of the World (2004); plus five studio albums, Learn Yourself (2003), We're Already Gone (2005), Ziggurats (2007), Spooks (2010), and Dancehall Days (2014). I Remember When I Was Young is an album by Australian vocalist John Farnham, released on 6 November 2005. Mia Celeste Dyson is an Australian singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She has released six studio albums, Cold Water, Parking Lots, Struck Down, The Moment, Idyllwild and If I Said Only So Far I Take It Back. More Than Words 1991 single by Extreme

"More Than Words" is the fifth track and third single from Extreme's 1990 LP Pornograffitti. It is a ballad built around acoustic guitar work by Nuno Bettencourt and the vocals of Gary Cherone. The song is a detour from the funk metal style that permeates the band's records. As such, it has often been described as "a blessing and a curse" due to its overwhelming success and recognition worldwide, but the band ultimately embraced it and plays it on every show.

Between Last Night and Us is the debut album by Australian blues/roots band, The Audreys.

– The ARIA Music Award for Best Blues and Roots Album, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It is handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry." To be eligible, the recording must be an album in the contemporary and traditional blues genres, and contemporary adaptations of Australian traditional music and/or folklore. The submitted work cannot be entered in other genre categories. The accolade is voted for by a judging school, which comprises between 40 and 100 members of representatives experienced in these genres, and is given to a solo artist or group who is either from Australia or an Australian resident.

It was co-produced by Kelly, Owen and J. Walker, which peaked at No. 16 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It was nominated for Best Blues and Roots Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2017.
