Wimpy's Diner is a Canadian chain of 51 restaurants in southern Ontario based on the 1950s- and 1960s-themed diners [1] serving hamburgers, but also serving breakfast all day along with various lunches and dinners [2] and specialty poutines. Wimpy's was established in 1961 as "Wimpy's Drive-In" [1] in Toronto (Wimpy's Charcoal House at Finch Avenue West and Yonge Street). In 1988, it was turned into a full-service restaurant. A second location was opened in 1992. Locations are now found in Southern Ontario. [3] [4]

The Red Barn restaurant was a fast-food restaurant chain founded in 1961 in Springfield, Ohio, by Don Six, Martin Levine, and Jim Kirst. In 1963, the small chain was purchased by Richard O. Kearns, operated as Red Barn System, with the offices moving briefly to Dayton, Ohio and in August 1964 to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During the late 1960s United Servomation, also called Servomation, bought the Red Barn chain. In 1978 United Servomation merged with the City Investing Company's GDV division which also owned the Motel 6 motel chain.
