Zhang Lirong (born 3 March 1973) is a retired Chinese runner. A dynamic middle and long distance runner, she set world class times in events ranging from the 1500m all the way up the marathon. She won the bronze medal in the 3000 m at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart.

Sonia O'Sullivan is an Irish former track and field athlete. She won a gold medal in the 5000 metres at the 1995 World Championships, and a silver medal in the 5000 metres at the 2000 Olympic Games. Her 2000 m world record of 5:25.36, set in 1994 stood until 2017.

The 2017 Asian Youth Athletics Championships was the second edition of the biennial, continental athletics competition for Asian athletes aged fifteen to seventeen. It was held at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand from 20–23 May.
