Ally McCrae (born 1987) is a radio broadcaster and media producer, best known for presenting the BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio 1 with Jen Long. [1] He previously presented the BBC Introducing in Scotland show until it ended in June 2012. [2] He is co-creator of production company Detour Scotland. He currently works in development for Channel 4.
On 2 November 2010 it was announced that Ally McCrae would take over from Vic Galloway as presenter of BBC Radio 1 Introducing show as part of a UK-wide shake up of BBC Radio 1's Introducing set up. [3] He now presents the BBC Introducing show with Jen Long. [1] He was also the UK voice actor of Jet-Vac from the Skylanders series.
In June 2014, it was announced that from 1 September 2014, the BBC Introducing show on a Sunday would no longer be broadcast, hence ending McCrae's career at the station. [4]
Detour Scotland was primarily created as a podcast for featuring unsigned Scottish bands but soon gained a reputation for putting on gigs, including "The Wee Jaunt". These gigs were held around the Glasgow area with the audience being taken round a host of locations, where several different local bands would perform sets everywhere from dark alley-ways to a large pond in Rouken Glen Park. Detour also runs events in several more common music venues around Scotland and runs an online video blog.
McCrae is an alumnus of Stirling University, where he obtained a degree in Film and Media Studies, and was the station manager of Stirling University's Air3 student radio station. In 2011, Scotland on Sunday ranked him Scotland's 9th "Most Eligible Man".
BBC Radio 1 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day. The station provides alternative genres at night, including electronica, dance, hip hop and indie, while its sister station 1Xtra plays black contemporary music, including hip hop and R&B. Radio 1 also runs two online streams, Radio 1 Dance, dedicated to dance music, and Radio 1 Relax, dedicated to chill-out music; both are available to listen only on BBC Sounds.

The station's target audience is people "with an interest in British Asian lifestyles", especially British Asians between the ages of 18 and 34. The Celtic Connections festival started in 1994 in Glasgow, Scotland, and has since been held every January. Featuring over 300 concerts, ceilidhs, talks, free events, late night sessions and workshops, the festival focuses on the roots of traditional Scottish music and also features international folk, roots and world music artists. Michael "Vic" Galloway is a Scottish radio and television presenter, writer and DJ. He hosts a self-titled show on BBC Radio Scotland every Monday from 9 pm to 11 pm and previously broadcast the BBC Introducing Scotland show. He had presented BBC Scotland's T in the Park television coverage every summer.

Catfish and the Bottlemen is a British indie rock band formed in Llandudno, Conwy, Wales, in 2007.
