The Attorney General of Uganda is the principal legal adviser to the government of Uganda. The office of the attorney general, is a cabinet-level government position in the country. The incumbent, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, was appointed on 8 June 2021. [1]
In the past, the office of the attorney general was combined with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs (Uganda), with one cabinet minister serving both functions. [2] Later, the two portfolios were de-coupled and two separate cabinet ministers were appointed. [3]

Kanyeihamba is a Ugandan author, a retired supreme court Judge, former cabinet minister, member of Parliament and was a chair of the Legal Committee of the Constituent Assembly that made the 1995 Constitution. He was appointed a member of the Supreme Court of Uganda in 1997 and retired in November 2009. Previously, he served as minister of commerce, minister of justice, and attorney-general, all in President Yoweri Museveni's administration. He holds a Ph.D. in law from the University of Warwick. In 2008, Warwick awarded him an honorary LLD.

John Musisi Senyonyi is a mathematician, academic, evangelist and academic administrator in Uganda. He is the immediate past Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University, a private university that was accredited by the Uganda National Council of Higher Education (UNCHE), in 1997. He was appointed to that position in 2010. Following ten continuous years in that position, he resigned, and handed over to Aaron Mushengyezi, in August 2020.
Evelyn Anite Kajik, commonly known as Evelyn Anite, is a Ugandan journalist and politician. She is the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization in the Ugandan Cabinet since 6 June 2016. Previously, she served as State Minister for Youth. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Ronald Kibuule, who was appointed State Minister for Water Resources. She also serves as the elected Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda, a position she has occupied since 2011. in the 2020 National resistance movement (NRM) flag bearer elections, Anite lost her bit to retain the seat of MP koboko munisparity, Dr Charles Ayume son of former speaker of the Ugandan parliament hon. Francis Ayume won the elections.

Francis Joash Ayume (1940–2004), was a Ugandan politician and lawyer. At the time of his death he was the incumbent Attorney General of Uganda.
Florence Ndagire is a female Ugandan lawyer, who works as a legal researcher and human rights lawyer at the United Nations (UN) based in Geneva, Switzerland. Ndagire, who is totally blind, also serves as the chairperson of the UN Women Regional Group, for Eastern and Southern Africa, comprising twelve countries. She is the first visually impaired person, male or female to qualify and receive licensure as a lawyer in Uganda.
