Diana Nankunda Mutasingwa also referred to as Diana Mutasingwa Kagyenyi is a Uganda politician. She is the current Cabinet Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President of Uganda. [8] On May 19, 2021, Mutasingwa Diana Nankunda Kagyenyi was sworn in as the Buikwe District Woman Member of Parliament under the National Resistance Movement political party. She replaced Judith Babirye. [9]

Background and education

She is a resident of Bukaya in Njeru division and born to Charles Mutasingwa. [8] When Diana was bed ridden in Nairobi, Charles Mutasingwa explored the villages, held rallies and door-to-door meeting on behalf of her daughter Diana Kagyenyi Mutasingwa, who was reported to have been poisoned during her campaigns in parts of Nyenga Division in 2018. [10] She completed her primary school from Kampala Parent's School. [2] [4] [8] [11] She later joined Greenhill Academy for both Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE). [8] She was awarded a diploma and a degree from Hertfordshire International College. [8]

Life before politics

She was employed as the Human Resource Manager at Afro Freight Clearing and Forwarding Company before joining politics. [8]

Political career

Before contesting as Buikwe's Woman Member of Parliament, she first contested for Njeru Municipality mayor in 2019, but was defeated by Yasin Kyazze. [8] Buikwe district had never had a minister until when President Museveni appointed Diana as the State Minister in the Office of the Vice President. [8] Nankunda is working with Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of Uganda who replaced Edward Ssekandi. [2] She was appointed as the Buikwe District Football Associations brand ambassador in Uganda and she became the official sponsor for the District Football Associations for the next five year staring in 2021. Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, commonly known as Jessica Alupo, is the ninth and current vice president of Uganda since 2021. She is a Ugandan politician, educator, and former military officer. She previously served in the cabinet of Uganda as minister of education between 2011 and 2016. She is also an elected member of parliament as Katakwi District's women's representative.

Amelia Kyambadde Ugandan politician

Amelia Anne Kyambadde is a Ugandan politician, philanthropist and Women activist. She is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Industry to the President of Uganda. She served as the Cabinet Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in the Ugandan Cabinet from 2016 to 2021 She replaced Kahinda Otafiire, who was appointed Minister for Justice. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Betty Oyella Bigombe. From 27 May 2011 until 1 March 2015, he served as the State Minister for Youth and Children. In 2021 he lost his Membership of Parliament for Mukono County North after an attempt to use military force to overturn the Electoral Commission decision.

Betty Amongi Akena,, but commonly known as Betty Amongi, is a Ugandan politician. She is the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development in the Cabinet of Uganda, as of 9 June 2021. Previously, she served as the Cabinet Minister of Kampala Capital City and before that, from 6 June 2016 until 14 December 2019, she served as the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Uganda's cabinet. She is also the incumbent member of parliament representing the Oyam South Constituency in the 11th Parliament.

Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, is a Ugandan businesswoman and politician. She is currently the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She is also the Federation of Uganda Football Associations third Vice-President, the first woman to hold that position in Uganda. As well serves as the Chairperson Commonwealth Youth Ministers Task force voted to that position in 2017.

Esther Mbulakubuza Mbayo, is a Ugandan politician. She is the Minister of the Presidency in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016, replacing Frank Tumwebaze, who was appointed Ministry of Information Information Technology and Communication. She also serves in the Parliament of Uganda, as the Luuka District Women's Representative.

She is the first female prime minister of Uganda.

Misi Kabanda sometimes known as Hajjat Misi Kabanda is the current cabinet and minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs. She was one of the ministers who finalized plans for the company to assemble and manufacture buses to ease transport needs in the greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA) through Kampala Capital City Authority and the METU bus industries. However, President Museveni rejected Loans for Importation of Buses.
