Deaflympics International sports event for deaf people

The Deaflympics also known as Deaflympiad are a periodic series of multi-sport events sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at which Deaf athletes compete at an elite level. Unlike the athletes in other IOC-sanctioned events, athletes cannot be guided by sounds. The games have been organized by the Comité International des Sports des Sourds since the first event in 1924.

2013 Summer Deaflympics 2013 multi-sport event in Sofia, Bulgaria

The 2013 Summer Deaflympics, officially known as the XXII Summer Deaflympic Games and commonly known as Sofia-Fussen 2013, was an international multi-sport event that took place in Sofia, Bulgaria from 26 July to 4 August 2013. The marathon had been held before in Füssen, Germany on 21 July.
Sofia was hosting the biggest sports event for deaf athletes for a second time. In the past the Bulgarian capital hosted the 1993 Summer Deaflympics, thus becoming only the second city, together with Copenhagen, which has hosted two Summer Deaflympics.

Kashmira Ram Joglekar is an Indian badminton player from Pune. She is profoundly deaf.

The 1985 Summer Deaflympics, officially known as the XV Summer Deaflympic Games, and commonly known as Los Angeles 1985, is an international multi-sport event that was celebrated from 10 to 20 July 1985 in Los Angeles, California United States.

2017 Summer Deaflympics 23rd Summer Deaflympics

The 2017 Summer Deaflympics, officially known as the XXIII Summer Deaflympic Games and commonly known as Samsun 2017 is an international multi-sport event that took place in Samsun, Turkey from 18 July to 30 July 2017. 3,148 athletes from 97 countries competed in 18 sports with 21 disciplines. 86 records were broken with 54 being world records and 32 being Deaflympics records.

Janet Watt is a former New Zealand female badminton player. She represented New Zealand at the 1985 Summer Deaflympics held in Los Angeles and she won the gold medal in the Women's doubles badminton event along with Carolyn Hamilin.

Malaysia at the 2017 Summer Deaflympics Sporting event delegation

Malaysia competed in the 2017 Summer Deaflympics which was held in Samsun, Turkey after narrowly missing the opportunity to compete at the 2013 Summer Deaflympics due to the Malaysian players' allegation for not having enough practices to compete at the event. Malaysia sent a delegation consisting of 16 participants for the event though it was earlier announced that only 10 competitors would take part in the multi-sport event. This was only the fifth time that Malaysia was eligible participate at the Summer Deaflympics after making its Deaflympic debut in 1993.

Fan Jung-yu is a Taiwanese female badminton player. She represented Chinese Taipei at the 2013 Summer Deaflympics and in the 2017 Summer Deaflympics.

Water polo is a water sport which has been contested at the Summer Deaflympics on 11 occasions. Water polo was recognised as a sporting event at the Deaflympics for the first time in 1949 with only two nations competing in the event. Water polo was contested only for men in the Deaflympic history and raised question marks regarding the availability of the sport at the Deaflympics.

Gergana Stoyanova Baramova is a Bulgarian female badminton player. She is profoundly deaf and has mainly competed at the Deaflympics and World Deaf Badminton Championships.

Rohit Bhaker is an Indian deaf badminton player.

Kristina Dovydaitytė is a Lithuanian badminton player. She has competed at the Deaflympics in 2001, 2005 and 2009.

Shen Yan-ru is a Taiwanese female badminton player. She competed at the 2013 Summer Deaflympics and also in the 2017 Summer Deaflympics.

2021 Summer Deaflympics 24rd Summer Deaflympics

The 2021 Summer Deaflympics, officially known as the XXIV Summer Deaflympic Games, and commonly known as Caxias Do Sul 2021, is the ongoing international multi-sport event held in Caxias Do Sul, Brazil, as the main host city from 1 May to 15 May 2022. In addition to Caxias, there are events scheduled for the neighbour cites of Farroupilha and Flores da Cunha. On April 12, 2022, CISS has announced that due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian and Belarussian athletes were barred from competing in Caxias, and in the same press release it was also announced that the bowling tournament was scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during October 20–30, 2022.

Zambia first competed at the Summer Deaflympics in 2013. The country also competed at the 2017 Summer Deaflympics held in Samsun, Turkey.

Jerlin Anika Jayaratchagan also simply known as either J. Jerlin Anika or Jerlin Anika is an Indian deaf badminton player.

India at the 2021 Summer Deaflympics Sporting event delegation

India is currently competing in the 2021 Summer Deaflympics which is held in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. India sent a delegation consisting of 65 participants in 11 sporting disciplines such as shooting, badminton, athletics, golf, judo, karate, table tennis, tennis, taekwondo, wrestling for the event, which is also the largest ever delegation sent by India in a single Summer Deaflympic event.
