Barry Wong is a Republican attorney and politician who previously served on the Arizona Corporation Commission and as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing the 18th district.
Wong graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting,from the University of Arizona School of Law and from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. [1]
In July 2006,Governor Janet Napolitano appointed Wong to fill the vacancy on the Arizona Corporation Commission created when Marc Spitzer was named to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. [2]

State voters chose 10 electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote pitting incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama and his running mate,Vice President Joe Biden,against Republican challenger and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and his running mate,Congressman Paul Ryan. Prior to the election,all 17 news organizations considered this a state Romney would win,or otherwise considered as a safe red state. Arizona was won by Romney with a 9.03% margin. This is the most recent presidential election in which Arizona failed to back the national winner,and when the Democratic candidate won a presidential election without winning the state. Obama remains the only Democrat to win two terms without winning Arizona at least once since the state's founding in 1912. Arizona is one of only two states that Obama lost twice that his former vice president Joe Biden would win in the 2020 presidential election,the other being Georgia.
