Ben Blushi (born 1 January 1969) is an Albanian politician,writer and journalist.
Ben Blushi,born in Tirana,studied at the University of Tirana,graduating in Albanian language and literature. He was editor-in-chief of the newspaper Koha Jonë. His works deal with Albanian history and contemporary Albania. In April 2008,Ben Blushi published his first novel Tëjetosh nëishull (Living on an Island). Within a couple of months,the book had sold over 30,000 copies,a record for the Albanian market. The novel covers Albanian history under the Ottoman Empire (15th–18th centuries),with a broad and not uncontroversial treatment of the country's Islamization. [1] His second novel,Othello,The Moor of Vlora won the European Union Prize for Literature in 2014. His following novels The Candidate and The Prime Minister were the best selling books at the Tirana Book Fair in 2015 and 2016 respectively. [2] [3] Blushi is an atheist. [4]
In 1999 Blushi embarked upon a political career in the cabinet of Prime Minister Fatos Nano. For several months he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs,and in late 2000 he became Prefect of Korça. He served as Minister of Education and Minister of Local Governance and Decentralization. [5] [6]
Blushi was a Member of Parliament for the Socialist Party before creating a new party,LIBRA,in October 2016. [7] Subsequently,he was an MP for LIBRA but he failed to win his seat in the 2017 election. [8] In January 2018 he quit the party and politics and became the general director of the Top Channel with a wage that surpasses many of his European colleagues. [9]
Albanian literature stretches back to the Middle Ages and comprises those literary texts and works written in Albanian. It may also refer to literature written by Albanians in Albania,Kosovo and the Albanian diaspora particularly in Italy. Albanian occupies an independent branch within the Indo-European family and does not have any other closely related language. The origin of Albanian is not entirely known,but it may be a successor of the ancient Illyrian language.
The 1997 Albanian civil unrest was sparked by pyramid scheme failures in Albania soon after its transition to a market economy. The government was toppled and more than 2,000 people were killed. Various other sources also describe the violence that ensued as a rebellion,or a rebellion that gradually escalated into a civil war.
Prof.Dr.Jakup Halil Mato was an Albanian publicist and educational administrator. He started publishing his articles and research studies in the field of literature and arts since the beginning of the 1960s. In the 1990s he served as head of Centre of Art Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Albania.

The Second Government of the Prime Minister Ilir Meta was the 60th Government of the Republic of Albania which was officially mandated by President Rexhep Meidani on 7 September 2001. After the 2001 election,the alliance led by the Socialist Party won the majority for the second time in a row and managed to create a post–electoral coalition of 86 seats in Parliament to form the new government.
The Bufi Government better known as the Government of Stability was an interim government formed after the resignation of the previous Nano government due to the aggravated situation in the country after the events of 2 April 1991 where 4 opposition supporters were killed in Shkodër during a anti-communist protest that led to the burning of the Shkodra Labor Party Committee. The Nano government resigned on 4 June 1991,and the next day the then-President Ramiz Alia,began negotiations to form a comprehensive government whose main objective would be to restore stability to the country,from which it took the name "Stability Government". Ylli Bufi was accepted also by the opposition to be appointed as Prime Minister,while one of the most prominent figures of the Democratic Party,such as Gramoz Pashko,was appointed Deputy Prime Minister.
