Chutti TV is a 24-hour Tamil cartoon television channel from the Sun TV Network in India. The target audience are children aged between 3 and 17. It was launched on 29 April 2007, making it Sun TV Network's first ever television channel for kids. [1]

Chutti TV made a partnership with American TV network Nickelodeon until the Tamil audio was added to the Indian channel. [2] [3] [4]

In 2015, Chutti TV launched a game show called Run Singoo Run on its platform. Run Singoo Run is an interactive game show where participants can control the game using motion capture technology. The Tamil version of the game show was launched on May 30, 2015. [5]

In 2018, Chutti TV's parent company, Sun TV Network purchased three animated series from the French animation studio Cyber Group Studios for its Tamil kids channel. The three animated series acquired were 'Tales of Tatonka', 'G-Fighters', and 'Animalia'. [3]

Nickelodeon is an Indian children's pay television network based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Despite using the "Nickelodeon" branding, it does not air any content from the original American network in recent times as part of a localisation strategy, and thus, original Nickelodeon content is only broadcast on the Nickelodeon HD+ channel. As of October 2020, Nickelodeon is the most watched children's channel in India.

Television in the Tamil language dates back to the 1990s. The largest of which are Sun TV, Star Vijay, Raj TV, Jaya TV, Kalaignar TV, and Zee Tamil. Most of the major television studios are located in Chennai Tamil Nadu. As of 2022, there are more than 50 channels in the Tamil language. The television industries are by far the largest television industry after the Hindi language in India.
