Colors Kannada (previously known as ETV Kannada), is an Indian general entertainment channel, owned by Viacom18 that primarily broadcasts Kannada language entertainment shows. [1] This channel is currently available in India and the United States. On the success of this channel, another channel named Colors Super, which is also a general entertainment channel, was launched on 24 July 2016. In December 2020, Colors Kannada celebrated its 20th anniversary.

History

The channel was originally launched on 10 December 2000 as ETV Kannada and was promoted by Hyderabad's Ramoji Rao. It later became a part of Viacom 18, owned by Network 18, officially re-branding under the Colors franchise on 26 April 2015. Colors Kannada was the first GEC to start an HD channel in Karnataka.

This channel was launched on 24 July 2016, after the success of Kannada's leading entertainment channel, Colors Kannada, the primary Kannada entertainment channel of Viacom18. <i>Bigg Boss OTT Kannada</i> season 1 Indian reality show

Bigg Boss OTT Kannada 1, also known as Bigg Boss: Over-The-Top Kannada, is the first season of the Indian Kannada-language reality digital series Bigg Boss Kannada, the first to be released exclusively on OTT platform Voot and Voot Select. It premiered on 6 August 2021 on Viacom18's streaming service Voot and premium streaming service Voot Select with Sudeep as the host. The OTT season concluded on 16 September 2022. Roopesh, Rakesh, Sanya, Aaryavardhan emerged as Champions of the season and got ticket to Bigg Boss Kannada 9. Roopesh Shetty emerged as the top performer of the season.
