Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe is a non-profit making body whose role is to unite the Zimbabwean customer service industry, including Zimbabwean call/contact centres and their professionals, as well as ensuring they meet international standards. [1]

CCAZ is a privately owned non-profit in partnership with local and international contact centre networking groups, call centres, investors, technological vendor suppliers, and professional bodies, as well as government and recruitment agencies.

History

CCAZ was founded in 2010 to cater to contact centres, customer service professionals and companies. The idea of its formation was motivated by other networking groups in first world countries and a few African countries which had yielded tremendous growth in the call centre industry, and connected contact centres and customer services professional with international recruitment agencies and academic professional boards. Owen Vere was CCAZ's founding President and was in office until 2017 when he was succeeded by Jeff Phiri through the board election. [3] Apart from the Executive Committee making major decisions, the day to day running of the association is done by Rinos Mautsa who is the organization's founder and executive secretary. Rinos Mautsa is an entrepreneur in the customer service sector. Partnership with Government

CCAZ as an association works closely with the government (especially the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology) in a bid to promote the development of contact centres in Zimbabwe and create more jobs for the nationals. The association also has a mutually beneficial business relationship with the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality as they partner with CCAZ in an event called the Service Excellence Awards. [5]

When CCAZ was officially launched in 2011, there were only about 100 contact centres in the country. Partnered with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology CCAZ’s goal is to create at least 500 contact centres and over 5 million jobs.

Service Excellence Awards

CCAZ has hosted the Service Excellence Awards annually for the past six years. [6] The awards are given out to recognise, promote and reward organisations excelling in customer service across all sectors. [7] The association has adopted diverse methods such as mystery shopping, questionnaires, the National Customer Satisfaction Index report, and online voting via survey monkey to come up with nominees for this event. A team of adjudicators determine the final list of winners. A sister organization, the Chartered Institute of Customer Management, hosts the same awards regionally since it is a global organisation. Winky D, born Wallace Chirumiko is a Zimbabwean reggae-dancehall artist, known popularly as "The Big Man", and also known as Dancehall Igwe, Gaffa, Ninja President, Proffessor, Extraterrestrial etc. He is often considered the Zimdancehall pioneer and one of the most accomplished modern Zimbabwean music artists . Not much is known about his wife but he in a few songs has mentioned his child's name Tayenda. The gaffas have continued to defend him about this issue claiming that it could be because of the respect he has for his family that he keeps them far from drama. He was born in Kambuzuma,a high density suburb in Zimbabwe's capital, Harare. He was also a presenter for the Rockers Vibes programme that was an all reggae programme, together with Trevor Hall.

Munacho T.A. Mutezo is a Zimbabwean engineer, businessman and politician. He was born on 14 February 1954 in Chimanimani, Zimbabwe.

Rugare Eleck Ngidi Gumbo is a Zimbabwean politician. He is a former Minister of Economic Development in the Zimbabwean government.

Supa Collins Mandiwanzira is a Zimbabwean politician and journalist who served as the Minister of Information Communication Technology (2014-2017) and then Minister of Information Communication Technology and Cyber Security in the Cabinet of Zimbabwe from November 2017 to September 2018. His earlier portfolio had been merged with cybersecurity. He is a member of the Zanu-PF political party. He was the founder of the ZiFM Stereo radio station, and the online ZiTV station.

2013 Zimbabwean general election

General elections were held in Zimbabwe on 31 July 2013. Incumbent President Robert Mugabe was re-elected, whilst his ZANU–PF party won a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.

Invision Studios is a film production company based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The company was founded by filmmakers Charles Mugaviri Jr., Blessing Chinanga and Denise Edwards in May 2013.

Tanaka Chinyahara is a Zimbabwean professional footballer who plays for Zambian club Red Arrows, as a midfielder.

EcoCash, is a mobile phone-based money transfer, financing and microfinancing service, launched in 2011 by Econet Wireless, for its customers in Zimbabwe. Rinos Mautsa is a Zimbabwean entrepreneur notable for his role in pioneering the first ever call centre development organisation in Zimbabwe. He is the founder of Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe and co-founder of the Chartered Institute of Customer Management.

Clive 'Mono' Mukundu is a Zimbabwean music producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist largely known as a guitarist. He is also an author. Mukundu has featured on more than 1000 albums and over 200 singles from 1988 to date.

Zimbabwe Institute of Management is a membership based and non-profit making management organisation founded in 1957 with the main goal of promoting and developing best practices in management and leadership. The Institute's membership is categorised into individual, corporate and student members. Tinashe Mutarisi Zimbabwean businessman

Tinashe Mutarisi is a Zimbabwean businessman. He is the founder and Chairman of Nash Paints, one of the top paint manufacturing and distribution companies in Zimbabwe which is a subsidiary of NASH Holdings. He was listed on Ngoda Business Most Influential Entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe Under-40.

Obadiah Moyo is a Zimbabwean politician and former hospital administrator. In 2018, he was appointed the country's Minister of Health and Child Care. On the 19th of June 2020, he was arrested and charged with three counts of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer, for his alleged participation in a scam that involved tens of millions of dollars. After spending the night in police cells, he posted $50 000.00 bail. On the 7th of July 2020, the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa dismissed Moyo from the office of Cabinet Minister, removing him for "conduct inappropriate for a Government Minister".

Rachel J is a Zimbabwean musical artist, television personality and businesswoman.
