Sir Hew Francis Anthony Strachan, is a British military historian, well known for his leadership in scholarly studies of the British Army and the history of the First World War. He is currently professor of international relations at the University of St Andrews. Before that Strachan was the Chichele Professor of the History of War at All Souls College, Oxford.
Joseph Raz was an Israeli legal, moral and political philosopher. He was an advocate of legal positivism and is known for his conception of perfectionist liberalism. Laura Gowing is professor of early modern history at King's College London where she works on women’s and gender history. She received her PhD from Royal Holloway, London, supervised by Lyndal Roper, where she was subsequently a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow. Simon Marginson is an Australian academic who researches higher education. He held professorships in education or higher education at Monash University (2000–06) and the University of Melbourne (2006–13) before moving to the United Kingdom as professor of international higher education at University College London (2013–18). As of 2021, he is the director of the ESRC/OFSRE Centre for Global Higher Education and professor of higher education at the University of Oxford.
