DENPA LLC is an American publishing company located in Portland, Oregon. [2] The company was established in 2018 and it was announced at Otakon in August of the same year by Ed Chavez, former Vertical marketing director and vice president of Fakku. [3]

<i>They Were Eleven</i> Japanese science fiction manga series and its adaptations

They Were Eleven is a Japanese science fiction manga series written and illustrated by Moto Hagio. It was serialized in three issues of Shogakukan's Bessatsu Shōjo Comic magazine in 1975. The following year, it won the 21st Shogakukan Manga Award in the combined shōjo and shōnen category. The series has inspired a live-action television film, an anime film, multiple stage plays, and an audio drama CD. It also inspired a sequel manga series, Zoku Jūichinin Iru! Higashi no Chihei, Nishi no Towa, serialized in Bessatsu Shōjo Comic magazine from 1976 to 1977. They Were Eleven was originally licensed in English by Viz Media and published in the manga anthology Four Shōjo Stories in 1996. The series and its sequel have been licensed by Denpa for a new English-language release in 2022. The anime film was originally licensed in English by Central Park Media, but it was discontinued in 2004.

Akiko Higashimura is a Japanese manga artist from Kushima in Miyazaki Prefecture. She debuted in the now-defunct manga magazine Bouquet Deluxe in 1999 with Fruits Kōmori (フルーツコウモリ) and later gained notability for her manga Kisekae Yuka-chan, which debuted in Cookie magazine in 2001. Higashimura was nominated for the Manga Taishō in 2008 for Himawari: Kenichi Legend, in 2009 for Mama wa Tenparist, in 2010 for Princess Jellyfish, in 2011 for Omo ni Naitemasu, and in 2016 and 2017 for Tokyo Tarareba Girls. In 2010, she won the 34th Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shōjo Manga for Princess Jellyfish. In 2015, she won both the 8th Manga Taishō and the Grand Prize at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival for Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey. In 2019, she won the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia for Tokyo Tarareba Girls. Higashimura's younger brother, Takuma Morishige, is the author of the manga My Neighbor Seki.

<i>The Poe Clan</i> Japanese manga series by Moto Hagio

The Poe Clan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Moto Hagio. It was initially serialized in the manga magazines Bessatsu Shōjo Comic and Shūkan Shōjo Comic from 1972 to 1976, while a revival of the series has been serialized in Flowers since 2016. The Poe Clan is composed of a series of non-chronological stories set between the 18th and 21st centuries that follow the life of Edgar Portsnell, a teenage vampire.

<i>The Flowers of Evil</i> (manga) Japanese manga series

The Flowers of Evil is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shūzō Oshimi. It was serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine between September 2009 and May 2014. The story follows a middle school student named Takao Kasuga who's forced into a "contract" by fellow student Sawa Nakamura, after being caught stealing the gym clothes of his crush Nanako Saeki, and the series of events afterwards that follow these three characters. The title of the manga comes from Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal.

Shūzō Oshimi is a Japanese manga artist who publishes works primarily for Kodansha. He made his debut with Superfly in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine. He is best known for his manga Drifting Net Cafe,The Flowers of Evil, Happiness, and Blood on the Tracks. His works have been adapted into many different media including television drama, anime, and live action film. In 2001, he won the Tetsuya Chiba Award.

<i>My Hero Academia</i> Japanese manga series by Kōhei Horikoshi

My Hero Academia is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters collected in 40 tankōbon volumes as of April 2024. Set in a world where superpowers have become commonplace, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy who was born without a Quirk but still dreams of becoming a superhero himself. He is scouted by the world's greatest hero, All Might, who bestows his Quirk to Midoriya after recognizing his potential, and helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for superheroes in training.

<i>Golden Kamuy</i> Japanese manga series

Golden Kamuy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It was serialized in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump from August 2014 to April 2022, with its chapters collected in thirty-one tankōbon volumes. The story follows Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the early twentieth-century Russo-Japanese War, and his quest to find a huge fortune of gold of the Ainu people, helped by a young Ainu girl named Asirpa. The Ainu language in the story is supervised by Hiroshi Nakagawa, an Ainu language linguist from Chiba University.

It was serialized in Shueisha's Jump GIGA in August 2016, but was transferred to Shueisha's online magazine, Shōnen Jump+, in October of the same year, with its chapters additionally collected into a total of fifteen tankōbon volumes which was completed as of July 2022.

<i>Inside Mari</i> Japanese manga series

Inside Mari is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shūzō Oshimi. It was serialized in Futabasha's Manga Action from March 2012 to September 2016, and published in nine volumes. A TV drama adaptation from Fuji TV was released in March 2017.
