Georges J. M. Meekers (born 1965 in Sint-Truiden, Belgium) is a wine writer and educator based in Malta.

His writing career began in the 1990s, when he wrote a wine column for Malta Today . He continues to contribute to The Times of Malta and several international wine trade magazines, such as Harpers Magazine, [1] with vintage reports on Malta and other upcoming wine regions. He is also the author of the first reference book on the Maltese wine industry. [2]

Outside Malta, Meekers is perhaps best known for his role as founder of the wine academy specialising in online wine tuition Wine Campus; he is also head of sales at the winery Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker, and is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers (UK). [3]

Awards

His publication 'Wines of Malta – the essential guide' was awarded 'Best Wine Guide' at the Gourmand World Cookbook Award in London, 2008. [4]

Hugh Johnson (wine writer) British author and expert on wine (born 1939)

Hugh Eric Allan Johnson is an English journalist, author, editor, and expert on wine. He is considered the world's best-selling wine writer. A wine he tasted in 1964, a 1540 Steinwein from the German vineyard Würzburger Stein, is considered one of the oldest to have ever been tasted.

Devon Abbott Mihesuah is an enrolled citizen of the Choctaw Nation, a historian and writer, and a previous editor of the American Indian Quarterly. She is the Cora Lee Beers Price Professor in the Humanities Program at the University of Kansas. She is the second Native woman to receive a named/distinguished professorship. Her lineage is well-documented in multiple tribal records. Her great, great, great grandfather signed the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. His son, Charles Wilson, served as sheriff and treasurer of Sugar Loaf County in Mushulatubbee District of the Choctaw Nation. Her great grandfather, Thomas Abbott, created the blueprints for the town of McAlester, Oklahoma and his son, Thomas, served as Chief of Police. Robert Joseph is a British wine expert, consultant, producer. In 1984, with Charles Metcalfe, he launched the magazine Wine International and the London International Wine Challenge. Joseph also launched International Wine Challenges in Asia and Russia. He resigned as chairman of the International Wine Challenge in January 2006.

Tom Stevenson is a British wine writer and critic. Described by his colleagues as one of today's most prolific wine authors, Stevenson is regarded as the world's leading authority on Champagne.
