Luis Ernesto Aparicio Montiel,nicknamed "Little Louie",is a Venezuelan former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a shortstop from 1956 to 1973 for three American League (AL) teams,most prominently the Chicago White Sox. During his ten seasons with the team,he became known for his exceptional defensive and base stealing skills. Frank Edward Thomas Jr.,nicknamed "the Big Hurt",is an American former professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for three American League (AL) teams from 1990 to 2008,all but the last three years with the Chicago White Sox. A five-time All-Star,he is the only player in major league history to have seven consecutive seasons (1991–1997) with at least a .300 batting average,100 runs batted in (RBI),100 runs scored,100 walks,and 20 home runs. Thomas also won the AL batting title in 1997 with a .347 mark. Thomas is a two-time AL MVP and won a World Series in 2005 although he was injured during the regular season and World Series.
Albert William Kaline,nicknamed "Mr. Tiger",was an American professional baseball right fielder who played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers. For most of his career,Kaline played in the outfield,mainly as a right fielder where he won ten Gold Glove Awards and was known for his strong throwing arm. He was selected to 18 All-Star Games,including selections each year between 1955 and 1967. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980,his first time on the ballot.
Orestes "Minnie" Miñoso,nicknamed "The Cuban Comet" and "Mr. White Sox",was a Cuban professional baseball player. He began his baseball career in the Negro leagues in 1946 and became an All-Star third baseman with the New York Cubans. He was signed by the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball (MLB) after the 1948 season as baseball's color line fell. Miñoso went on to become an All-Star left fielder with the Indians and Chicago White Sox. The first Afro-Latino in the major leagues and the first black player in White Sox history,as a 1951 rookie he was one of the first Latin Americans to play in an MLB All-Star Game.
John Joseph Podres was an American left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in the majors from 1953 to 1969,spending most of his career with the Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers. Podres won four World Series titles with the Dodgers. He is best known for pitching a shutout in game 7 of the 1955 World Series to give the Dodgers their first championship.

Ernest Thorwald Johnson Sr. was an American professional baseball player and television sports color commentator. He played in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher between 1950 and 1959. He played the majority of his career with the Boston Braves and remained with the team when they became the Milwaukee Braves in 1953. Johnson was a member of the world champion 1957 Milwaukee Braves. He played his final season with the Baltimore Orioles. After his playing career,he became a longtime television color commentator on the TBS television network. In 2001,Johnson was inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame. He is the father of Ernie Johnson Jr.
The 1955 Cincinnati Redlegs season was a season in American baseball. It consisted of the Redlegs finishing in fifth place in the National League,with a record of 75–79,23½games behind the NL and World Series Champion Brooklyn Dodgers. The Redlegs were managed by Birdie Tebbetts and played their home games at Crosley Field.
