Harmu Housing Colony is one of the largest residential areas of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state, India. [1] The Colony was established during the early 1960s, and has since rapidly expanded. As of 2016, it has, apart from residential houses and apartments, a number of trading and commercial establishments; government offices; schools and hospitals, and other civic facilities. The neighboring areas of Harmu housing Colony are Argora and Ashok Nagar in South, Kishore Gunj in North and New AG Cooperative colony in East. India cricket captain MS Dhoni's house is located here. Many high rise apartments are being built in this area and property prices are very high. [2]

Patliputra colony is a housing cooperative society in Patna, the capital city of Bihar. The Society was formed in 1954 and was meant to be a housing society for Government Officials only, consisting of both residential and business settlements. It is surrounded by the Kurji- Rajapur road on one side and the Bailey Road and Gosain Tola on the other and by New Patliputra colony and Rajeev Nagar on one side. Ranchi Municipal Corporation is responsible for the civic administration of the city of Ranchi. It was established in 1979 in erstwhile Bihar and is presently the biggest municipality in Jharkhand. According to Census of India 2011, the area under the municipal body is 175.12 sq km and the population is 1,073,427. There are 55 wards in the city, which are further grouped into zones. The last election to the municipal corporation took place in 2018, with candidates from Bharatiya Janata Party winning the seats of Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
