Hollywood Exes is a 2012-2014 American reality television series that aired for three seasons on VH1. [1] [2] The series chronicles the lives of seven ex-wives of famous men. [3] The series led to one spin-off, Atlanta Exes , which ran for one season in 2014.

Contents

Production

In September 2012, VH1 announced that Hollywood Exes had been renewed for a second season with Daphne Wayans joining the cast. [4] The second season premiered on July 8, 2013. [5]

In January 2014, VH1 announced that the third season would premiere on May 7, 2014, with Shanna Moakler joining the cast. [6] The spin-off show of the series, Atlanta Exes , premiered on August 18, 2014. [7]

On October 22, 2020, it was announced that a reunion special titled Hollywood Exes: Reunited will premiere on November 24, 2020. [8]

Anxious to start a new life and stop living in her ex-husband's shadow, Andrea Kelly, ex-wife of R. Kelly, leaves her home town of Chicago to check out L.A. In L.A., she has a close friend in Nicole Murphy, ex-wife of Eddie Murphy. Nicole takes her under her wing and introduces Andrea to her friends and fellow Hollywood exes, Sheree Fletcher, ex-wife of Will Smith, Jessica Canseco, ex-wife of Jose Canseco, and Mayte Garcia, ex-wife of Prince. The women bond over their unique position as famous exes. Meanwhile, Jessica has lunch with Jose, who has a startling proposal for her.

Reception

Zap2it's Elizabeth Brady described the cast as "sympathetic and agreeable" finding it "refreshing to see that there might be a place for women who play nice every now and then in reality TV." She added that "Hollywood Exes is certainly not the most compelling series of the summer, but it has its moments." [40]

South Beach Tow is an American television series that portrayed dramatized reenactments of the day-to-day business of Tremont Towing, a family-run towing business in Miami Beach, and South Beach Towing, a towing company in Gladeview created by the workers of Tremont in Season 4. Both are actual towing companies in Florida; however, South Beach Towing has ceased operations and closed down within the last two years, leaving only Tremont Towing left in business. It was produced by Bodega Pictures and Nuyorican Productions, and it aired on the American cable channel truTV, running for 4 seasons from July 20, 2011, to December 10, 2014. The final episode titled "Checkmate" aired on December 3, 2014, which ended the story on a major cliffhanger. A week later, a bonus episode aired on December 10, concluding the series with a total of 87 episodes. The series then went into limbo and was presumed cancelled. Though truTV has never made an official statement of its cancellation, the network has since removed it from its programming. Although the program is fictionalized, Tremont Towing and South Beach Towing are real towing companies in Miami Beach and Gladeview, respectively.

La La's Full Court Life is an American reality television series on VH1. The series debuted on August 22, 2011, and is the follow-up series to La La's Full Court Wedding. La La's Full Court Life chronicles the life of Alani Vasquez aka La La as she experiences married life with the professional basketball player Carmelo Anthony, evolving from being the fiancée of a basketball player to being a basketball wife and how she manages her life while keeping her career in check.

Preachers' Daughters is an American docusoap series that premiered on March 12, 2013, and airs on Lifetime. The second season premiered on March 5, 2014, with two families joining the cast. The third season was announced to be returning on January 23, 2015, with two new families. The Colemans, the Elliots, and the Koloffs were not returning to the third season with it turning into a reality TV show with 9 girls who are living in the house and trying to stay saved and without leaving.

Girl Code is an American comedy television series that premiered on MTV on April 23, 2013. It is a spin-off series to Guy Code. The series features actresses, musicians, stand-up comics—plus a few men—who discuss the sisterhood that women share. It was announced on June 13, 2013, that the series had been renewed for a twenty-episode second season, which premiered on October 30, 2013. In April 2014, MTV announced the third season renewal of Girl Code, which premiered on October 1, 2014. In August 2015, MTV premiered a spin-off talk show called Girl Code Live hosted by Awkwafina, Nessa, and Carly Aquilino.
