Tical is the debut studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man. It was released November 15,1994,by Def Jam Recordings. It was the first Wu-Tang solo album released after the group's debut,Enter the Wu-Tang. Similar to all first generation solo Wu-Tang projects,Tical was mainly produced by group member RZA,who provided a dark,murky and rugged sound. The album features guest appearances from RZA,Raekwon,Inspectah Deck,as well as several affiliates,who would later appear on future group projects. On October 5,2017,Method Man revealed on the Viceland talk show Desus &Mero that the album's title is an acronym for "taking into consideration all lives."

Blackout! is the debut studio album by American hip hop duo Method Man &Redman. It is the first full-length release by Method Man and Redman after many collaborations. The album continued a string of highly successful Def Jam releases in the late 1990s. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 with first week sales of 254,000 copies and served as a bit of a precursor to the 2001 major studio film How High. Both rappers enjoyed perhaps the height of their popularity as a tandem after the success of the album and its three charted singles. Ill Na Na is the debut studio album by American rapper Foxy Brown. It was released by Def Jam Recordings on November 19,1996,and reissued on September 29,1997,in the UK with an additional song "Big Bad Mamma". Brown began working on the album after being discovered by the production team Trackmasters and appearing on a number of singles by other artists,such as LL Cool J,Case and Jay Z. The immediate success of the singles led to a bidding war at the beginning of 1996,and in March,Def Jam Recordings won and signed the then 17-year-old rapper to the label. Mostly produced by Trackmasters,Ill Na Na features guest appearances from Blackstreet,Havoc,Method Man,Kid Capri and Jay Z. Lyrically,the album mainly focuses on themes of fashion,sex and mafia.
"Funkorama" is a song by American rapper Redman. It was released on December 19,1995 via Interscope Records as the first single from The Erick Sermon Compilation Album Insomnia. Written and produced by Redman,it samples "Midnight" by A Tribe Called Quest and "Stick 'Em" by The Fat Boys. The single peaked at number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. It features guest appearances from Erick Sermon,Jamal,Keith Murray,K-Solo,Method Man,Napalm and Rockwilder. The album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in the United States. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on February 12,1997 for exceeding shipments of 500,000 copies. The album spawned three charted singles:"It's Like That","Whateva Man" and "Pick It Up" and a promotional single "Smoke Buddah".
