History

The journal was established in 1972 by the International Epidemiological Association to facilitate communication among its members and all those engaged in research, teaching and the application of epidemiology. The first editor-in-chief, Walter W. Holland, hoped to "overcome some of the problems of publication of epidemiological work in local journals, which often tend to be unavailable to workers outside that country" and to "create an international viewpoint of health problems." [1]

The Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy is a peer-reviewed medical journal which covers antimicrobial chemotherapy, including laboratory aspects and clinical use of antimicrobial agents. It is published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy and was established in 1975. In January 2015 J. Peter Donnelly became the eighth editor-in-chief replacing Alan P. Johnson. The journal has had two previous publishers. All content is available for free after 12 months while authors also have the option to have their articles published immediately as open access.

Theoretical Population Biology is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on theoretical aspects population biology in its widest sense, including mathematical modelling of populations, ecology, evolution, genetics, demography, and epidemiology. The editor-in-chief is Noah A. Rosenberg, who in January 2013 succeeded the founding editor Marcus Feldman. The journal has a partnership with the journal Genetics, exchanging manuscripts in between the two if they are a better fit of the other journal's scope.

Epidemiologic Reviews is an annual peer-reviewed scientific journal covering epidemiology and published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Journal was established in 1979 by Neal Nathanson and Philip E. Sartwell. The longest running editor-in-chief was Haroutune Armenian. The current editor-in-chief is David Celentano of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Learning & Behavior is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Springer Science+Business Media on behalf of the Psychonomic Society. The journal was established in 1973 as Animal Learning & Behavior, obtaining its current title in 2003. The founding editor-in-chief was Abram Amsel, the current editor is Jonathan Crystal. It was established in 1908 and is published fourteen times a year by Cambridge University Press. The editor-in-chief is John Russell Stothard.

Stephen Leeder AO FRACP FFPH FAFPHM FRACGP is an emeritus professor of public health and community medicine at the University of Sydney, where he was dean of medicine from 1997 to 2002. Leeder is an adjunct professor of public health at the Western Sydney University, an adjunct professor of epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York. He held the position as chair of the Western Sydney Local Health District Board from 2011-2016.

Oud Holland – Journal for Art of the Low Countries is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal covering art from the (Northern) Netherlands and Southern Netherlands (Belgium) from c. 1400–1920. Oud Holland is the oldest surviving art-historical journal in the world. It was founded by Adriaan de Vries and Nicolaas de Roever in 1883, since then 132 volumes have appeared. From 1972 the journal has been published by the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History; since 2008 in collaboration with Brill Publishers. The editorial board consists of Elmer Kolfin (editor-in-chief), Menno Jonker, John Bezold, Jan Dirk Baetens, Yvonne Bleyerveld, Edwin Buijsen, Nils Büttner, Volker Manuth, Tine Luk Meganck, Ingrid Vermeulen. Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz is a peer-reviewed open access medical journal covering parasitology, microbiology, and tropical medicine. It was established in 1909 by the Brazilian physician Oswaldo Cruz and is published by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) eight times a year. The editor-in-chief is Adeilton Brandão (IOC/FIOCRUZ).

Plant, Cell & Environment is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Wiley-Blackwell. The editor-in-chief is Anna Amtmann.

The Wiener klinische Wochenschrift is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal that was established in 1888. It is the official organ of three medical societies in Austria: the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Innere Medizin, Österreichischen Kardiologischen Gesellschaft, and Österreichische Gesellschaft für Pneumologie.
