Career

Years after moving to Jackson Heights, Queens with his family at age 17, [4] Juan Wauters formed an indie rock band named The Beets with bassist Jose Garcia and drummer Jacob Warstler. [5] [6] [7] The band released albums on Hardly Art and Captured Tracks. [8] [9] Juan Wauters released his debut solo album NAP: North American Poetry in 2014. [10] The following year, Wauters released his sophomore recording Who Me? The album received a 6.0 rating on Pitchfork. [11] Who Me? features songs sung in both Spanish and English. [12] Wauters has shared stages with artists such as Jeff Tweedy, Mac DeMarco, and Foxygen. [13] [14] [15]

Matthew Volz worked as the band's official artist, providing hand-painted banners and unique light shows.

Following the debut releases of Rock and Roll Night Club and 2 in 2012 and the extensive touring for both releases in 2013, DeMarco worked on material for his next album at his Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment in Brooklyn. Salad Days garnered acclaim from critics, and debuted at number 30 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned two singles: "Passing Out Pieces" and "Brother". To promote the album, DeMarco went on a tour that spanned across North America, South America and Europe.

The title track was accompanied by a music video directed by DeMarco himself.

This Old Dog is the third full-length studio album by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mac DeMarco, released on May 5, 2017 through Captured Tracks. Following the release of Another One, DeMarco moved from his isolated Queens home to a house in Los Angeles to create the album. The album spawned two singles in January, "My Old Man" and "This Old Dog", which are the two first tracks on the album. The singles "On The Level" and "One More Love Song" were released in April 2017. The album leaked on April 13, 2017.
