Kesar Da Dhaba

Kesar Da Dhaba is a vegetarian Punjabi dhaba [1] in Amritsar, Punjab, India, that originated as a small restaurant selling dal and roti set up by Lala Kesar Mal, a Punjabi Hindu in Sheikhupura, near Lahore in 1916. [2] It moved to Amritsar after the partition of India in 1947. Lala Lajpat Rai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Padmini Kolhapuri, Yash Chopra and Rajesh Khanna are said to have eaten here. [3] It is a small dhaba, in a narrow lane in Chowk Passian near Town Hall.

Its signature dish is dal makhani (dal with butter). [4] They are also known for phirni served in earthen bowls. [5]

Moti Mahal is a restaurant. After the partition of India in 1947, the Moti Mahal in Delhi was founded by Kundan Lal Gujral, Kundan Lal Jaggi and Thakur Dass as one of the first restaurants to introduce the Punjabi cuisine to the rest of the world.

Highway on My Plate (HOMP) was a weekly travel and food show that aired on NDTV Good Times between 2007 and 2013, and is now available on Amazon Prime Video or repeated on channels. It was anchored by food enthusiasts and childhood friends Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma, who have together traveled more than 1,20,000 kilometres across the length and breadth of India over the course of seven years in search of memorable eating experiences. The shows were directed by Abhinandan Sekhri and produced by Prashant Sareen, both of whom later co-founded the news critique website Newslaundry. In November, 2013, Rocky Singh announced on Facebook that HOMP Hills was the last season and there will be no new episodes.

Although there are many parties with the description Akali Dal, the party that is recognised as "Shiromani Akali Dal Aka Badal Dal " by the Election Commission of India is the one led by Sukhbir Singh Badal. The party has a moderate Punjabi agenda. On 26 September 2020, they left the NDA over the farm bills.

Kundan Lal Jaggi, was an Indian chef and restaurateur based in New Delhi. He along with Kundan Lal Gujral is credited with the invention of Butter chicken, Tandoori chicken, Dal makhani, Paneer makhani and the Moti Mahal restaurant.

Kundan Lal Gujral was an Indian chef and restaurateur based in New Delhi. He, along with Kundan Lal Jaggi invented several Indian dishes which have since become popular worldwide, including Butter chicken, Paneer makhani, Tandoori chicken and Dal makhani. He was the founder of the restaurant chain Moti Mahal Delux.
