Madhu Yadav is former captain of the Indian women's national field hockey team. [1] She is a 1986 Asian Games bronze-medallist. [2] She has also received the Arjuna Award in 2000 from the President of India. [3] She has also coached the team after her retirement. [4] She is from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Charanjit Singh was an Indian field hockey player who was the captain of the team that won the gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He was also a member of the team that won the silver medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome and the 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta.
Honorary Captain Shankar Lakshman was an Indian hockey player. He was goalkeeper of the Indian team in the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics, that won two gold medals and one silver medal. He was the first goalkeeper to become captain of an international hockey team and was awarded the Arjuna award and the Padma Shri by the Indian government. He was captain of the Indian team which won the gold in the 1966 Asian Games. After missing the selection for the 1968 Olympics, Lakshman quit hockey. He remained with the Army, retiring in 1979 as a captain of the Maratha Light Infantry. He died in 2006 after suffering gangrene in one leg in Mhow.
The Indian women's national field hockey team represents India in international field hockey, and is governed by Hockey India. Nabhvarna are currently ranked 6th in the FIH World Rankings, and are ranked as the best team in Asia. They have won the gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and 1982 Asian Games. They have also won the Women's Asia Cup twice, i.e. in 2004 and 2017. They also won the Asian Champions Trophy 2016 and 2023.
Pritam Rani Siwach is an Indian former field hockey player, who represented the India women's national field hockey team. She also served as the captain of the Indian women's hockey team. In 2008, she was recalled to join the team for the Olympic qualifiers in order to bring an "additional wealth of experience." After the team did not qualify for the Olympics, Siwach stated in an interview, "We are not that bad as the results would show. It was simply a case of missed chances [...] One difference between my times and now is the midfield. We had an experienced midfield with Sita Gussain at the centre. That helped us. Here, both T. H. Ranjita and Rosalind Ralte are young, just come into the team. They are potential youngsters, will only improve."

Sunita Puri was married to Shri Yatish Chandra (Mehrishi), Ex. Army who later joined Indian Police Service and was an officer in the Madhya Pradesh cadre. She also in the "Vikram Award" committee of the Madhya Pradesh Government.
Prashanti Singh is a shooting guard for the Indian national women's basketball team. She is first basketball player in India conferred with National Civilian Award Padma Shri in 2019. She has been honoured with the Arjuna Award by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in 2017. She has also been conferred with the prestigious Rani Laxmi Bai Bravery Award 2016–17 in the field of sports by Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Jagbir Singh the former Indian field hockey Centre Forward represented India in two Olympics, 1990 World Cup and was a leading light of the Indian team in all the major tournaments, for a decade, from 1985–95, including two Asian Games, the 1989 Asia Cup & Champions trophy.
Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam is an Indian field hockey player. A former captain of Indian national team, she has over 150 international caps to her credit. Born in Imphal, Manipur, Chanu began playing hockey at the age of eleven, and was soon selected for the national camp. She was awarded Arjuna Award for year 2023.
Ritu Rani is an Indian former field hockey player, who represented the India women's national field hockey team. She also served as the captain of the national team. She plays as a halfback. Rani has led the team to medal winning performances most notably the bronze at the 2014 Asian Games.
