Mallidi Venkata Narayana Reddy, professionally known as Mallidi Vassishta, is an Indian film director, writer and actor, who works in Telugu cinema. He is the son of film producer Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy. [1] [2]

Early life

Mallidi Vassishta was born on 8 January 1986 and was brought up in Chennai. He had his primary education in Chennai and shifted afterwards to Hyderabad to complete his secondary education at Nalanda Educational Institutions. He eventually graduated from St. Mary's College. [3]

Career

He initially worked as an assistant director for several films in the 2000s, including Naa Autograph (2004), Sakhiya (2004), Bhageeratha (2005), Bunny (2005), Dhee (2007), and Bodyguard (2012). [3] [4] He also acted in a film called Premalekha Raasa (2007). [5]

He made his directorial debut in 2022 with the fantasy action drama, Bimbisara starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under N. T. R. Arts and was released to positive reviews. He received the 2023 SIIMA Award for Best Debut Director - Telugu for this film. [6]

His second film, Vishwambhara , starring Chiranjeevi as the protagonist is currently being filmed and is being bankrolled by UV Creations. [7] [8]

Nandamuri Balakrishna, widely known as Balakrishna and Balayya is an Indian actor, producer and politician known for his works in Telugu cinema. Balakrishna is an elected member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Hindupuram constituency since 2014. The sixth son of Legendary actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. T. Rama Rao, Balakrishna made his debut as a child artist at the age of 14 with the film Tatamma Kala (1974). Balakrishna is a recipient of three state Nandi Awards and one South Indian International Movie Award. In 2012, Balakrishna was the chief guest at the 43rd IFFI.
