Life and work

Tonight I'm listening to John Fahey coax the legend of Blind Joe Death
out of his fingers. He's a ghost now, if you remember, dead for years,
the guitar grown out of his bones. You're walking with him through
the Arizona night. Wordsworth is there too, whispering, "come forth
into the light of things" and I imagine your blind left eye suddenly
opening to the world again, and just then, you stoop to kiss the breasts
of one of those cow dogs turned maiden and one of her wondrous
nipples pierces your good eye. [1]

Delp was an instructor of creative writing at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan. Delp's literary works have been recognized and highlighted at Michigan State University in their Michigan Writers Series. [2] He is known for writing about nature, especially fishing and water. [3] He was co-editor (with Conrad Hilberry and Herbert Scott) of the anthology Contemporary Michigan Poetry: Poems from the Third Coast (1988).

Robert L. Hass is an American poet. He served as Poet Laureate of the United States from 1995 to 1997. In 2014 he was awarded the Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets.

Herbert Read English anarchist, poet, and critic of literature and art

Sir Herbert Edward Read, was an English art historian, poet, literary critic and philosopher, best known for numerous books on art, which included influential volumes on the role of art in education. Read was co-founder of the Institute of Contemporary Arts. As well as being a prominent English anarchist, he was one of the earliest English writers to take notice of existentialism. He was co-editor with Michael Fordham of the British edition in English of The Collected Works of C. G. Jung.

Robert Hayden was an American poet, essayist, and educator. He served as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from 1976 to 1978, a role today known as US Poet Laureate. He was the first African-American writer to hold the office.

David Lehman is an American poet, non-fiction writer, and literary critic, and the founder and series editor for The Best American Poetry. He was a writer and freelance journalist for fifteen years, writing for such publications as Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. In 2006, Lehman served as Editor for the new Oxford Book of American Poetry. He taught and was the Poetry Coordinator at The New School in New York City until May 2018.

Sheila Murphy American writer

Sheila E. Murphy is an American text and visual poet who has been writing and publishing actively since 1978. She is the recipient of the Gertrude Stein Award for her book Letters to Unfinished J. Green Integer Press. 2003. Murphy was awarded the Hay(na)ku Poetry Book Prize from Meritage Press (U.S.A.) and xPress(ed) (Finland) in 2017 for her book Reporting Live from You Know Where. 2018. She currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona.

Antigone Kefala is a contemporary Australian poet and prose-writer of Greek-Romanian heritage. She has been a member of the Literature Board of the Australia Council and is acknowledged as being an important voice in capturing the migrant experience in contemporary Australia. In 2017, Kefala was awarded the State Library of Queensland Poetry Collection Judith Wright Calanthe Award at the Queensland Literary Awards for her collection of poems entitled Fragments.

Annie Finch American poet

Annie Finch is an American feminist poet as well as an editor, critic, nonfiction writer, translator, verse playwright, and performer. Her poetry is known for its often incantatory use of rhythm, meter, and poetic form.
