The Miss Bermuda is a national Beauty pageant in Bermuda. The pageant was established in 1965 and is the official national pageant to select representatives at international pageants.

Miss Universe Bermuda

Miss Bermuda was identified to have been held for the first time in 1965. The winner then went on to compete at Miss Universe pageant until 1997. Since then, Bermuda did not compete at any beauty contests. The Miss Bermuda Pageant has an illustrious history, first competing in the Miss Universe Pageant in 1965, with Margaret Hill winning Miss Photogenic in 1970. Gina Swainson was the only Miss Bermuda who placed as the 1st Runner-up at Miss Universe 1979. [1]

Miss World Bermuda

Miss Bermuda began competing in the Miss World Pageant in 1971 and in 1979 Gina Swainson was the first Miss Bermuda to become Miss World.

The parent company of all three pageants and the Miss Universe organization remains the same under the licensing agreement: JKN Metaverse Inc., a subsidiary of JKN Global Group.

Miss Venezuela is a Venezuelan beauty pageant operated by the Cisneros Group. Founded in 1952, it currently selects Venezuelan representatives to Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International. The current national director of Miss Venezuela is Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler.

Miss World 1979, the 29th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 15 November 1979 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. The winner was Gina Swainson from Bermuda. She was crowned by Miss World 1978, Silvana Suarez of Argentina. First runner-up was Carolyn Seaward representing the United Kingdom and second runner-up was Debbie Campbell from Jamaica. Swainson was a first runner-up in Miss Universe 1979 represented Bermuda and Carolyn Seaward was a second runner-up in same pageant represented England.

Carolyn Ann Seaward is an English actress and beauty pageant titleholder. she also appeared in the 1983 Bond film Octopussy. She won Miss England and Miss United Kingdom in 1979. As Miss England, she was second runner-up at Miss Universe 1979. Then as Miss United Kingdom, she was first runner-up at Miss World 1979. Seaward is one of only three British beauty queens, along with Rosemarie Frankland and Helen Morgan, to have finished in the top three at both the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants.

The United States has continuously sent a representative to Miss World since its inception in 1951. The United States has won the Miss World crown three times in 1973, 1990 and 2010. Currently, Miss World America is the official national pageant that selects the contestant from the United States to Miss World.

Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2023 is Natasha Joubert. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.

Miss U.S. International is the official United States preliminary to the Miss International Beauty Pageant. The United States has sent a representative to the Miss International pageant since its inception in 1960. The only year a representative was not sent was in 2006.

Miss Ecuador is a national beauty pageant in Ecuador. The current Miss Ecuador is Delary Stoffers from Guayaquil. She won the title on July 1, 2023, and represented Ecuador at Miss Universe 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Miss World 2013</span> Beauty pageant edition

Miss World 2013, the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 28 September 2013 at Bali International Convention Center, South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia. It was the first time in Southeast Asia and it also was the first time in the pageant's history that the event was held in a Muslim majority country. Contestants from 127 countries and territories competed in this year's Miss World pageant, marking the biggest turnout for any beauty pageant globally as of 2024. Yu Wenxia of China crowned her successor Megan Young of the Philippines at the end of the event, marking the only time to date that the Philippines has won the Miss World title. This victory also made the Philippines the third country to win all of the Big Four international beauty pageants.

Angenie Anamaria Simon is a Curaçaoan model and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss Curaçao 2009 and went to the Miss Universe 2009 in The Bahamas, and the Miss World 2010 in Sanya, People's Republic of China. She earned a place in the national and regional pageant history records by being the first Miss Caraïbes Hibiscus winner who was crowned by a compatriot. Currently she is working as a Financial Assistant and she took in 2011 the challenge in partnering with national social entrepreneur and international youth ambassador Gwendell Mercelina Jr. for the Miss Caraïbes Hibiscus Curaçao pageant.
