Purpose

Mubarak Al Kabeer Port is part of China's Belt and Road Initiative. [3] [4] Under China's Belt and Road Initiative, the Mubarak Al Kabeer Port is part of the first phase of the Silk City project. [3] [4] The port is an essential part of Kuwait Vision 2035 as it will create many new job opportunities in Kuwait. [4] Mubarak Al Kabeer Port will serve the economic interests of many countries including Kuwait, China, Iraq, and Iran. In addition, the port is one of the closest seaports to Central Asia.

As of 2021, Mubarak Al Kabeer Port is currently under construction. [5] [1] [6] [2] According to MEED, the project's contract was awarded in November 2019. [7] The port is set to be environmentally sustainable. [8] [9] In September 2020, it was reported that the port is 53% complete. [10] In March 2021, it was announced that Kuwait and Pakistan will develop linkages between Gwadar Port and Mubarak Al Kabeer Port. [11] [12]

In April 2021, the port's first phase was completed (4 berths). [2] As part of Mubarak Al Kabeer Port's development, Bubiyan Island will contain power plants and substations. [9] [5] [13] [14] A 5,000-megawatt power plant has already been built in Subiya. [15] There is a current road project connecting Mubarak Al Kabeer Port's first phase to the existing road network in Bubiyan Island. [16] [2] Mubarak Al Kabeer Port is among Kuwait's largest infrastructure projects in 2021. [17] [18] Mubarak Al Kabeer Port's fire stations are currently under development. [19]

Mubarak Al Kabeer Port is part of the Gulf Railway project in Kuwait. [20]

Foreign relations

The port entails developing mutually beneficial economic ties with Iraq. [21] In early 2011, the port caused tensions in Iraq due to its proximity to Grand Faw Port. In September 2011, Iraq's foreign minister announced that the dispute over Mubarak Al Kabeer Port has been resolved. [22]

In August 2019, Iraq sent a protest letter against Kuwait to the United Nations regarding the maritime area that lies beyond marker 162 in Khor Abdullah by upraising a shoal, namely Fisht al-Aych. [23] [24] [25]

Bubiyan Island

Bubiyan Island is the largest island in the Kuwaiti coastal island chain situated in the north-western corner of the Persian Gulf, with an area of 863 km2 (333 sq mi). The Mubarak Al Kabeer Port is currently under construction. As part of Mubarak Al Kabeer Port's development, Bubiyan Island will contain power plants and substations. A 5,000-megawatt power plant has already been built in Subiya.

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Governorate of Kuwait

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate is one of the governorates of Kuwait which mainly houses residential areas of Kuwait City. It was formed in 2000 when the Hawalli Governorate was split in two.

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital is a general hospital built in Jabriya, Kuwait in 1982. The hospital was named after Shiekh Mubarak Al-Kabeer Al-Sabah. It serves the Hawalli Governorate and covers about 700,000 people in the area. It consists of all departments. All the nationalities living in Kuwait can go in this hospital. All patients who come in the hospital should bring their CIVIL ID CARD.

Jahra Governorate Governorate of Kuwait

Al-Jahra Governorate is one of the six Governorates of Kuwait. It is the largest Governorate in Kuwait. It includes the town of Al-Jahra, most of the northern and western parts of Kuwait, several islands, and also western suburbs of Kuwait City. It also contains most of Kuwait's arable land. Jahra also has some historic relevance to Kuwait's history. The Red Palace or Al Qasr Al Ahmar is the most important historical landmark there.

In May 2019, the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway opened as part of the Silk City project's first phase, the project's first phase also includes Mubarak Al Kabeer Port which is currently under construction. The Silk City project is part of China's Belt and Road Initiative. Kuwait has confirmed that Madinat al-Hareer phase 1 will possibly be completed this year.

The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway is a causeway in Kuwait with an estimated construction value of approximately US$3 billion Under China's Belt and Road Initiative, the causeway is part of the first phase of the Silk City project. The causeway spans the Bay of Kuwait in two directions and comprises two projects: Main Link, which connects Kuwait City with northern Kuwait ; and Doha Link, which connects Kuwait City with Doha. It crosses two artificial islands which were constructed for entertainment and tourism purposes. The causeway project is part of Kuwait Vision 2035.

Mubarak bin Rashid Jassim Al Khater was a Bahraini historian, writer, and poet. He attended the Al-Hidaya Al-Khalifia Boys’ School in Muharraq, then finished secondary school in Manama with a diploma in commerce. He worked after graduation at the Courts Administration, a division of the Ministry of Justice (1955-1967), the Ministry of Waqf (1967-1982), and the Ministry of Information (1982-1994). Retiring in 1994, he belonged to the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature, Sunni Waqf Council, Union of Arab Historians, the Al Eslah Society, the International Islamic Literature Association, and the Bahrain History and Antiquities Society.

South al-Mutlaa is new city under construction in Jahra Governorate, northern Kuwait. It is the largest housing project in the Kuwaiti history, ultimately intended to provide homes for 400,000 people in 12 suburbs, together with schools, mosques, mini-markets and health-centres. The city was approximately 39% complete by May 2019, and is expected to be completed by 2023. South al-Mutlaa is one of several new cities planned by the Kuwaiti government, alongside South Saad Al Abdullah and South Sabah Al Ahmad.
