Mulla Nasruddin was a television programme on Doordarshan, which aired in 1990. The title role was played by Raghubir Yadav.

The episodes were based on stories of Nasreddin (Dastan-e-Nasruddin were credited in this show), a 13th-century wise man, whose wisdom can be found in folk tales from Turkey to China. The show was directed by Amal Allana, with music by Louis Banks [1] and script by S.M. Mehdi.

Richard Edmund Williams was a Canadian-British animator, voice actor, and painter. A three-time Academy Award winner, he is best known as the animation director on Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) -- for which he won two Academy Awards -- and as the director of his unfinished feature film The Thief and the Cobbler (1993). His work on the short film A Christmas Carol (1971) earned him his first Academy Award. He was also a film title sequence designer and animator. Other works in this field include the title sequences for What's New Pussycat? (1965) and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966) and title and linking sequences in The Charge of the Light Brigade and the intros of the eponymous cartoon feline for two of the later Pink Panther films. He has won two International Awards as Best Actor for Massey Sahib, FIPRESCI Critic's Award, Venice Film Festival, 1986 and the IFFI Best Actor Award (Male): Silver Peacock Award at the 11th International Film Festival of India, 1987. The film also featured writer and social activist in National School of Drama, New Delhi until 1977.

Mulla Powinda or Mullah Powindah, born Mohiuddin Maseed (1863–1913), was a religious leader and a freedom fighter from the Pashtun tribe of the Shabi khel Mahsuds, based in Waziristan. He was from Marobi Shabikhel, a village in the present-day Makin Subdivision of South Waziristan, Pakistan. He led a long-standing guerrilla insurgency against the British colonial forces in the late 19th century. Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne is an Indian television series directed by Prakash Jha that revolved around the life of Mungerilal, played by Raghubir Yadav. The serial was conceptualised by Neeraj Kumar who also gave it its iconic name which has stuck in the collective conscience of its audience. Neeraj Kumar took inspiration from James Thurber's story Secret Life of Walter Mitty and went on to script the first four episodes of the show. Subsequent episodes were written by Manohar Shyam Joshi. Its hugely popular and celebrated theme song song- 'Sapnon Ke Naam Nahin, sapnon ke daam nahi, sapno ke ghodon par kissi ki lagaam nahi, Mungerilal ke Haseen Sapne...' were also penned by Neeraj Kumar.

The Uncommon Sense of the Immortal Mullah Nasruddin is the title of a 2010 book of folkloric stories collected and retold by Ron Suresha, published by Lethe Press, about the folk character Nasreddin. Suresha subtitled the book, Stories, jests, and donkey tales of the beloved Persian folk hero.
