Transportation in Vietnam is improving rapidly in terms of both quantity and quality. Especially road traffic is growing rapidly but the major roads are dangerous and slow to travel on due to outdated design and an inappropriate traffic mix. In recent years, the construction of expressways has accelerated. Air travel is also important for long distance travel. Metro systems are under construction in the two metropolises of Vietnam, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Tuổi Trẻ is a major daily newspaper in Vietnam, publishing in Vietnamese from Hồ Chí Minh City. It was originally a publication of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, and while it is still the official mouthpiece of that organization, it has grown to become the largest newspaper in the country. As of 2007 its daily circulation was 450,000.
Miss Vietnam World is a beauty contest for both Vietnamese women in Vietnam and Overseas Vietnamese women from other countries in the world. The pageant is related to Miss World Vietnam but not to the Miss Vietnam pageants. The contest was first held in 2007, and the next was held in August 2010.
VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company, trading as VietJet Air, is a Vietnamese low-cost airline based in Hanoi. It was the first privately-owned new-age airline to be established in Vietnam, being granted its initial approval to operate by the Vietnamese Minister of Finance in November 2007. As of its launch in December 2011, it became the second private airline to offer domestic service in Vietnam, as well as the fifth airline overall to offer civil domestic flights. VietJet Air is owned by Sovico Holdings, HDBank, other organisational investors, and individual stakeholders.

The North–South express railway is a proposed high speed railway in Vietnam. The line would begin in Lạng Sơn, crossing Bắc Giang, Bắc Ninh, Hanoi, Hà Tây, Hà Nam, Ninh Bình, Thanh Hóa, Nghệ An, Hà Tĩnh, Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, Phú Yên, Khánh Hòa, Ninh Thuận, Bình Thuận, Đồng Nai, Bình Dương, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Tiền Giang, Vĩnh Long, Cần Thơ, Hậu Giang, Sóc Trăng, Bạc Liêu and ending in Cà Mau. The rail line would connect the two most urbanised areas in Vietnam which are Hanoi in the North's Red River Delta in the north and Ho Chi Minh City in the South's Mekong River Delta. The total proposed length would be 2,070 kilometres (1,290 mi), compared with the 1,726-kilometre (1,072 mi) of the old railway line. The cost of the line is estimated at US$55.85 billion, to be funded by official development assistance from Japan and by the Vietnamese government itself. The project is planned to be implemented in three phases: Lang Son to Hanoi (170 km); Hanoi to Vinh city (285 km); Vinh City to Nha Trang (896 km); Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City (364 km); Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho (139 km); Can Tho to Ca Mau (216 km). Construction activities on the first phase are expected to commence in 2020, and the whole project is scheduled for completion in 2050. This project is part of the country's railway transport development strategy by 2020 with a vision to 2050. The project is also part of the Trans-Asian railway network.

Tao Dan Park is an urban park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam behind the Independence Palace. It is of the largest parks in the city, covering 10 hectares. Part of the park will be used for the Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2's Tao Dan Station. The park formerly hosted a bird park that attracted songbird owners.
Line 1 is rapid transit line of the Ho Chi Minh City Metro, Vietnam. Line 1 is the city's first metro line, connecting District 1 and Thu Duc City. The line began construction in 2012, initially scheduled for completion in 2018. The project's completion date has been delayed to the end of 2023. Ticket prices will range from VND9,000-23,000 ($0.39-1) per trip.
