Ora News is a regional and online television news channel based in Tirana, Albania, which was founded on January 31st, 2007. [1] The news director is Miriam Ndroqi. [2]

Contents

The Albanian Media Monitoring Board evaluated Ora News as the most balanced news presenter of the parliamentary elections in June 2009 and again in May 2011 for the local elections. [3]

Radio Televizioni Shqiptar is the national public broadcasting company of Albania. Founded in 1938, it operates several radio and television channels, over a domestic transmitter network as well as satellite. The international television service via satellite RTSH Sat was launched in 1993 and is aimed at Albanian-speaking communities in Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and northern Greece, plus the Albanian diaspora in the rest of Europe. Television in Kosovo was first introduced in 1974. The Radio Television of Pristina was the first Albanian-speaking broadcaster in Kosovo, founded in 1974 following Radio Pristina's founding in 1945. It was forcefully shut down in 1990 by the Yugoslavian government, forbidding the flow of information through Kosovan airwaves during the Kosovo War. In wartime, the information blackout was covered by Radio 21 and Koha Ditore, while television was under the sole ownership of the Radio Television of Serbia.

It began airing on Top Channel on March 29, 2013, and ended on May 24, 2013. After four years of absence, on January 19, 2018, Top channel premiered the second season.

Ermal Peçi is an Albanian journalist and television presenter. He hosted his first television program in 2006. In February 2023 Ermal Peçi moved on public broadcaster, Radio Televizioni Shqiptar RTSH, hosting 'Më prit në fundjavë'. 'Friends of Europe' chose him as the Albanian representative at the European Young Leaders 2023 in Brussels, Belgium.

Albania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with the song "Karma" performed by Anxhela Peristeri. Its entry was selected through the national selection competition Festivali i Këngës organised by Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) in December 2020. To this point, the nation had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest sixteen times since its first entry in 2004. Prior to the contest, the song was promoted by a music video and various television and radio appearances in Albania, Greece, Kosovo and San Marino.

"Karma" is a song by Albanian singer and songwriter Anxhela Peristeri. It was composed by Kledi Bahiti and written by Olti Curri, with the production handled by Bahiti and Dimitris Kontopoulos. The song was released as a single for digital download and streaming in various countries on 9 March 2021 by Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) and Universal. Incorporating modern and traditional elements, it is a Balkan-influenced pop ballad backed by string instruments. The song's Albanian-language lyrics makes reference to the principle of karma, portraying the inner turmoil of a woman who finds guilt for her world falling apart within herself.

Miss Grand Albania is an Albanian female beauty pageant founded in 2014 by a Pristina-based event organizer chaired by Sherif Pacolli, Lens Production. In 2018, the competition license was later transferred to the modeling agency managed by Aleks Tanushi, Aleks Fashion Events (A.F.E.), and its headquarters was also relocated to Tirana. The pageant winner represents the country at its international parent contest, Miss Grand International.

From 2014 to 2018, the pageant was held in parallel with the Miss Grand Albania competition as Miss Grand Albania & Kosovo, but after Aleks Tanushi of Aleks Fashion Events (A.F.E.) took over the Albanian franchise in 2018, it was instead organized as a stand-alone pageant from 2019–2021.
