PTC Punjabi is an Indian Punjabi language television channel owned by PTC Network. [5] It features general interest programming including news, dramas, comedies, music and talk shows. PTC Punjabi commenced operations on 6 August 2008 [6] and in a year, became the most popular television network in Punjab, India.

Contents

In 2009, PTC Punjabi expanded its reach internationally. It launched in the United States on DirecTV on 23 August 2009. In September 2009, a Canadian version launched. On 25 August 2010, PTC Punjabi launched on Dish Network, making the channel available in the United States once again. [7] [8] PTC hosts the annual PTC Punjabi Music Awards and PTC Punjabi Film Awards.

PTC Punjabi Music Awards [9] are presented annually by PTC Punjabi to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Punjabi language music industry of India. [10] [11] [12]

The PTC Punjabi Film Awards award for Best Actor is an award, begun in 2011, presented annually at the PTC Awards to an actor via a jury. This is given by PTC Punjabi as part of its annual PTC Awards for Punjabi (Pollywood) films. As of 2020, Diljit Dosanjh lead the list, with five wins, followed by Amrinder Gill and Gippy Grewal.
