Picked Off is an American reality-competition television series on History. [1] The series premiered on July 11, 2012, [2] and is hosted by Keith Neubert. [3] The judges are collectibles experts Todd and Ethan Merrill.

Gameplay

Four teams of two people meet up at an antiques barn in southern Mississippi, where they determine the value of an antique or collectible item without going over, similar to the "One Bid" preliminaries on The Price Is Right .

The winner of this opening round gets a 15-minute head start on the next round, where the contestants visit a certain venue (usually located within a short driving distance from the home base) and, within a certain time period, find and take back an item they feel would be worth the most money. Todd and Ethan then judge the items and determines their value; the contestant with the lowest-valued item among the others is "picked off"—in other words, eliminated from the competition.

The next round features the three remaining teams visiting three different leads as selected by the host, with their spending limit fixed to the value of the item appraised in the previous round; like before, they try to find the highest-valued item, with the contestant with the lowest-valued item "picked off" the competition.

In the final round, the two remaining teams scour a given geographic area, in which they have a certain period of time to look for the most-valued item, limited to the value appraised of the previous item; the contestants can use the same leads as the previous round, and/or find leads on their own. The team with the top-valued item after this round wins the top prize of $10,000 cash.

South Beach Tow is an American television series that portrayed dramatized reenactments of the day-to-day business of Tremont Towing, a family-run towing business in Miami Beach, and South Beach Towing, a towing company in Gladeview created by the workers of Tremont in Season 4. Both are actual towing companies in Florida; however, South Beach Towing has ceased operations and closed down within the last two years leaving only Tremont Towing still currently in business. It was produced by Bodega Pictures and Nuyorican Productions, and it aired on the American cable channel truTV, the show ran for 4 seasons from July 20, 2011 to December 10, 2014. The final episode titled "Checkmate" aired on December 3, 2014, which ended the story on a major cliffhanger. A week later, a bonus episode aired on December 10, concluding the series with a total of 87 episodes. The series then went into limbo and was presumed cancelled. Though truTV has never made an official statement of its cancellation, the network has since removed it from its programming. Although the program is fictionalized, Tremont Towing and South Beach Towing are real towing companies in Miami Beach and Gladeview.

The second season of the Syfy reality television series Face Off premiered on January 11, 2012 and ended on March 14, 2012. The season featured 14 prosthetic makeup artists competing in a series of challenges to create makeup effects. The winner of this season, Rayce Bird of Shelley, Idaho, received US$100,000 cash, US$25,000 worth of makeup from Alcone, and the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
