The Perelman School of Medicine, commonly known as Penn Med, is the medical school of the University of Pennsylvania, a private research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1765, the Perelman School of Medicine is the oldest medical school in the United States and is one of the seven Ivy League medical schools. Penn Med is consistently one of the top recipients of NIH research awards and is currently ranked sixth for research among American medical schools by U.S. News & World Report.
Anita LaFrance Allen is the Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law and professor of philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She was formerly Vice Provost for Faculty (2013-2020). She has been a senior fellow in the former bioethics department of the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, a collaborating faculty member in Africana Studies, and an affiliated faculty member in the gender, sexuality and women's studies program. She is current affiliated with The Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics, the Warren Center, and the Center for Technology Inovation and Competition at Penn. She has been elected to the American Philosophical Society, the National Academy of Medicine, the American Law Institute, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She served as President of the Eastern Division of the American Philosophical Association in 2018–19. She won the Philip L. Quinn Prize of the American Philosophical Association in 2021, the organization's highest honor for service to Philosophers and Philosophy. In 2010, President Barack Obama named Allen to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. She is a Hastings Center Fellow.
Victoria Arango, Ph.D., is a Professor of Clinical Neurobiology in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. She is the Director of the Diane Goldberg Laboratory for the Molecular Imaging of Neural Disorders (MIND) and the Laboratory of Chemical Neuroanatomy. She is also the Associate Director of the Division of Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology at the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Jeffrey Alan Lieberman is an American psychiatrist who specializes in schizophrenia and related psychoses and their associated neuroscience (biology) and pharmacological treatment. He was principal investigator for CATIE, the largest and longest independent study ever funded by the United States National Institute of Mental Health to examine existing pharmacotherapies for schizophrenia. He was president of the American Psychiatric Association from May 2013 to May 2014.
Charles P. O'Brien is a research scientist, medical educator and a leading expert in the science and treatment of addiction. He is board certified in neurology, psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. He is currently the Kenneth E. Appel Professor of Psychiatry, and vice chair of psychiatry, in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Elisabeth Binder is a medical doctor and neuroscientist specializing in the study of mood and anxiety disorders. She is the director of the Department of Translational Research of the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich, Germany. In addition to research, she is a member of the executive committee of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP).
Anne E. Kazak is an American clinical psychologist, educator and editor. She has focused on pediatric psychology. Much of her research involves "interventions to enhance adaptive functioning and reduce child and family distress associated with serious pediatric illnesses."
Shelley L. Berger is the Daniel S. Och Professor of cell and developmental biology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Her research focuses on epigenetics.
Shiriki K. Kumanyika is an Emeritus Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and co-chair of the International Association for the Study of Obesity International Obesity Task Force. She has previously served as Associate Dean for Disease Prevention and was founding director of the University of Pennsylvania Master of Public Health. She chairs the African American Collaborative Obesity Research Network. She is the former president of the American Public Health Association.

Wadden is a clinical psychologist and educator who is known for his research on the treatment of obesity by methods that include lifestyle modification, pharmacotherapy, and bariatric surgery. He is the Albert J. Stunkard Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and former director of the University's Center for Weight and Eating Disorders. He also is Visiting Professor of Psychology at Haverford College.
Chanita Ann Hughes-Halbert is an American psychologist and medical researcher. She is professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina and the AT&T Distinguished Endowed Chair for Cancer Equity at the Hollings Cancer Center. She is the first woman and first African American from South Carolina elected to the National Academy of Medicine.
Marie Celeste Simon is the Arthur H. Rubenstein Professor of cell and developmental biology, the scientific director of the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute, and the associate director of the Abramson Cancer Center Core Facilities, at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Her research focuses on cancer cell metabolism, angiogenesis, and immunology.
