Sandeep Marwah is an Indian film producer, director, educator, journalist and businessman. [2] He is the founder-president of the Asian Academy of Film & Television and Noida Film City, [3] [4] and is the chairman of the advisory committee of Miss Earth India. [5] Marwah is also the founder-owner of Marwah Studios and has produced a number of short films. [6] [7]

Early life and career

Sandeep Marwah was born in Delhi, India. In 1986 Sandeep Marwah proposed a film city project to the Delhi Government but it was rejected. In 1987 Noida Authority accepted the project and in 1988 Noida Film City was founded. He was nominated as the Chief Scout of India in 2019. [8] [9]

In September 2019, Sandeep Marwah met Khaltmaagiin Battulga, President of Mongolia for better relationship between both the countries. [10] In 2020, Marwah and Nejmeddine Lakhal, Tunisian ambassador to India, signed an MoU to develop and promote films, art and culture. [11]

Personal life

Sandeep is married to Reena Kapoor, who is the daughter of Indian film producer Surinder Kapoor. With her he has two sons Mohit Marwah and Akshay Marwah.[ citation needed ] Elder son Mohit is married to Antara Motiwala [12] while Younger son Akshay Marwah is married to Aashita Relan.[ citation needed ] [13]

Noida Film City is a film city consisting a complex of studios and structures for filming located in Sector 16-A of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. It houses the Asian Academy of Film, Television and Marwah Films and Video Studios along with prominent news channels of India. It was founded in 1988 by Sandeep Marwah, an Indian film producer, founder and chairperson of the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT). It has been the location for many Bollywood and Indian films, along with shooting television serials, news and other entertainment-cum-education programs, facilitated by satellite channels, multiplex offices, film and publication companies, radio and audio broadcasting and many other corporate offices.
